And EA gave it away for free for at least 2 times.

Still that's a lot of game for $6, well worth it I believe :P
Gamersgate is also having a Warhammer weekend with many titles, most notably:

Dawn of War Platinum - $7.49 - This is the cheapest I've seen this pack go for

Dawn of War II Gold - $10.18 - Perhaps not the best price, but DoW2 alone is well worth it (The expansion ups the dificulty a lot and makes several aspects of the game annoying, though some people love it better than the base game)

Dawn of War II Retribution - $11.98 - Haven't played this one sadly so can't comment much on it :(

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine - $24.98 - About the perfect price point for this game, or at least about what I think it is worth. Pretty solid game, though the first half of it is a little too repetitive for its own sake (I like Darksiders better than this, even when I love the Warhammer 40k setting).

As usual with me, all links have ref ids.

That's true. Unfortunately the quality of the game does not match the quantity. The game is riddled with bugs lots and lots of bugs that never got fixed and the game still tops my list for the most astoundingly bad UI ever invented.

Anyone who is thinking about buying the game to sink some time into it should research the game carefully. It's gets bad reviews for a reason.

Hmm...I wouldn't mind owning DoW 2, but I don't think I can run it. I meet all the other requirements but my card's an X1300, not a 1600.

I'm glad to hear Space Marine's good! It got mediocre reviews, but I loved DoW so much I picked up Space Marine for my PS3. Going to sit down and start it tonight, actually :D

They added an online game mode about a month after release and apparently the PC version controls kind of sucked ass, so the lukewarm reviews may not apply all that well to the version you'll be playing.
Are the first two Dawn of War 2 (base game and Chaos Rising) Steamworks? I know it contains GFWL, but I'm going to play the single-player game only.
I've just notice on GG:

The DoWII: Retribution Complete Pack is currently $29.98, but if you buy everything from that pack separately, it's only $23.75

Yeah, they're Steamworks and also contain GFWL, making it one of the weirdest (and stupidest) DRM schemes ever.

Also, Amazon.com seems to continue the trend of copying Steam sales by having From Dust on sale for $5. Not sure if those coupons from last year will work here, but if they do maybe some of you can score yourselves a free copy of it :)

Huh, that's a LOT to add post-release. Planned but unfinished feature, or a response to fan demands? :D

Planned actually, it's the co-op mode they promised since the game shipped without it. It is fun, if not related to the story and with a difficulty that can only be described as brutal.

You can't register From Dust anywhere, so if someone buys it, that person sticks to Amazon download service also to that horrible 'you must be always online UBIDRM'. The Steam version does not have this DRM, they patched it out.

Didn't mention it being Steamworks because I wasn't sure it'd be -- Thanks for clearing up that it isn't. You sure they didn't patch out the DRM for other retailers though?

As far as I know only Steam version is 'DRM free' (still needs Steam client) but I might be wrong.

Online co-op mode multiplayer mode (some sort of survival, horde mode) was intended for launch but they cut it to make their street date and promised to have it out a month later. Since I think it was out probably around 5 weeks later I think they probably kept that promise. Of course a ton of folks were pissed and boycotted anyway (or threatened to). I can't say it's awesome, but they didn't cut the core campaign and the co-op DLC was free (iirc) so it's hard to say, for me at least, that they were being tools about the whole thing. The street date was September, it can be really bad for a game like that to not launch on time around that time of the year.
