Amazon's official rep said this on CAG:
If you've tried to apply your coupon prior to today, or on a title that isn't listed on the page above, it is OK your coupon is not gone, it has just been applied to your account. Simply check out with one of the titles on that page and the $5 will be deducted. I have now tested this 3 separate times.
But knowing the deals next week, I'll be saving my two codes for Alice and something else:

wish I bought the prince of persia pack separately... Now I have 1.5 coupon left, for so many great deals..luckly I don't have a good graphics card so I could ignore most of the deals

ahhh...I did try to use a code once on the first, so that explains that...Thanks a lot. :)
And I gave another code to gyokzoli so he should be covered hopefully...funny I bought several $1.99 Ricochet games, and now look what it is getting! Sweet! lol

Yea the coupon applies before the tax, so the total =$0, which costs tax $0... However if you buy something more than $5 using coupon, you still need to pay the tax on the remaining portion

I got that as much now. I just thought KO was originally saying he was seeing the game for 0 dollars BEFORE entering a coupon and advising us of his find. That's all.

Well that looks like it might be fun, can't really argue with the price, and it's DRM free. Anyone played it?

Edit : Dead space 1 and 2 now 75% off on Steam
Edit again: Wait, I don't get it. Price of Dead Space 2 with 75% off is listed as $15, but the price of Dead Space AND Dead Space 2 is listed as $12.49. Is this an error? If so, I need to get home and buy before they fix it.....

Probably due to regional pricing. Both dead space 1 and 2 are $5 each and the pack is $10 for people in the US. Might be cheaper to trade for it.

Here in UKland, it's 6.24 for the pack, 3.75 for the second instalment and 2.50 for the first. All in pounds.
