summitus: I paid full price for it and I wish I had of waited , I have hardly played it since I got it , its get boring pretty quickly , I tried a break from it for a few days and went back to it but just couldn't get into it , I will for sure canceling my sub before the 30 days is up :( Funny thing is it was the game I was most looking forward for about 2 years !
That's actually common. MMOs require a huge time investment when you begin and if you don't do it you quickly lose interest in them. Happened to me with RIFT.doublechocochip

TheWhiteRose: I don't know why SWTOR's price is surprise. EA has been pricing all their big PC releases for 60 dollars recently. BF3 is that price; Mass Effect 3, Syndicate, and Kingdom of Amalur will be 60 as well.
darknath: If only it was priced at 60... but SWTOR costs between 70 and 100 dollars.. i have seen a few places where it has come down to 60, because of discounts.. but thats it

What put you off the game then? Looking to get some opinions because so far i've only really heard feedback from youtube gaming channels etc. orcishgamer: What do you consider a "long time"? The drop off in subs should be around the 3-6 month mark.
Well i think SWTOR will last longer than your usual WoW competitors that's why i think the price won't drop for 'a long time' (by that i mean at least a year or until GW2 comes out). I know it's true that MMOs usually do drop in subscribers fast (Aion, Warhammer online, Rift, Star Trek) but because this game can be played as a typical single player Bioware RPG, i really think playing an alt will give the game a lot more replayablity due to different storys as opposed to normal MMOs wheres its just a different starting area being the only difference between races.
TheWhiteRose: The base game is 60. The digital deluxe edition is a different story, but you don't need that.
Personally i still think $60 (or in my case £40) is going over the top. As i stated earlier in a post every other MMO that has come out has been £29 ($40-45?) or less on launch yet this game prices itself as an AAA console title. Again like i said only Activision is the only other dev to my knowledge with the gall to charge console prices for a retail PC game (MW3) and EA shouldn't be rewarded for charging so highly. If people accept and pay these prices then EA and Activision are just going to exploit PC gamers by charging them the same prices as Console owners and honestly one of the big draws of PC games is that they usually cost a lot less.

I agree that it's too much. It's one thing if all the game files are on there, and all you have to do is install and then launch, but that isn't the case. But EA just likes to copy Activision's pricing schemes.
I myself only buy PC games when they go on sale for hefty discounts even if it means waiting for a long time. No sense in overpaying for any game.

Borderlands is on sale @ Get Game for $4 but then it says "This game is NOT a steam keycode game."
What does that mean? That they don't even provide you with a CD key or is there different types of CD keys for this game. I'm confused.

@worlddan
I think it translates to it cannot use the Steam Achievements available with the Robot Claptrap DLC. You can register under a non-STEAM version in the other game option in STEAM but that non-STEAM version is not compatible with the DLCs on STEAM. STEAM usually has a little blurb on their sale page stating the so and so version of so and so title requires the base game on STEAM to work. It won't show up in the STEAM game grid too I think. I think, don't quote me.

Borderlands is not a steamworks game. They'll provide you with whatever is required for activation but you can't register the game on steam. A lot of people mistakingly think Borderlands is a steamworks game so they're making sure to tell people it's not. What does that mean? That they don't even provide you with a CD key or is there different types of CD keys for this game. I'm confused.

GameRager: It is registered into my account though, and steam has to be run to play it....that sounds like steamworks to me.
If they are specifically telling you it's not a steam key then it's not a Steam key. Which means you can play it without Steam. My dvd copy of, say Warband, needs Steam to run too. But I downloaded it from the developer's site and can play it without Steam.
I don't know what shanigan is happening with Borderlands but I vaugely remember it going Steamworks after a patch or a dlc.

(BTW I bought it from Steam directly as part of a four pack with others, not from another site......clarifying here.)
