CowboyBebop: Don't know if this has been posted yet, but Hamilton's Great Adventure is free right now if you're an IGN Prime member.
Just went and picked this up. Thanks for the tip :)

Did you play every one them? Which one of them you suggest?
Do you know about the DRM and the download-install policy of "getsgamesgo.com"?

I don't know anything about their policies, but I've bought a few games from there, and received everything I paid for without problems. My only complaint is that their downloader is slow as hell.

Well, when I made a purchase from getgamesgo, their orders team sent me some emails telling me that I was limited to 3 activations on the games I'd bought, after which I would have to contact them to get more :/

But, when I messaged their support team about this, they claimed I had been sent some outdated emails by mistake. Take this as you will, but I don't think I'll buy from them again...

Why? They don't have a special DRM system, the games they are selling come with their own.
Also not many store offer you free licences after you used up your activation limit. And this is very nice of them.

The games I bought didn't have any drm of their own.

The impression I got from the support person I talked to was that getgamesgo used to have some sort of additional drm system, but they've now removed it.

He assured me that the games I bought don't have an activation limit anymore, and I had just been mistakenly sent those emails due to a site update.

Either way, it just seems very disorganized.

Many Publishers remove their activation limits on games after a certain period of time via patches. Maybe this game was one of those cases. Gamesgetgo doesn't have any influence on this. Maybe they just wanted to be on the safe side.

They certainly aren't as professional as Amazon or Steam, but the one purchase I made from them worked nicely. (After a mix up on my part)

Ah, that makes more sense now :) The support person told me that I had mistakenly received some old Just Flight emails, as there used to be an unlock limit on their products a few years ago. Thanks for helping me clear that up.
I don't use GamesGetGo. They don't reward you with blue coins like GamersGate does.

I've only played two games of the 47, er 48 (just installed Hamilton) so far:

And Yet It Moves
Anomaly: Warzone Earth

The first one is madness. I'm now stuck trying to abod the beehive. I keep dying.
Anomaly is hard (playing hardest difficulty), I don't have enough firepower, I should just start over and not lose any more armored vehicles <g>

Trying to play all the casual ones in alphabetical order before I bite into larger titles like Aliens vs Predator, Borderlands, Bulletproof, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Need For Speed :Shift, Silent Hill: Homecoming etc.

I definitely recommend And Yet It Moves, but you will curse your keyboard more than usual
Anomaly: Warzone Earth, after I stop dying I'll know if I should recommend it...

I hate this game with passion. This shows, imo, everything that is wrong with indie-gaming. An so called unusual "art style", which is still lazy, unimaginative and just plain ugly. Very, very shoddy controls that make the game more difficult than it is supposed to be. An artifically raised difficulty that is more prone to luck than to skill or controls (want to see a good example for a difficult indie game -> Meatboy).

Lazy, unimaginative and badly made from a technical standpoint. It tries to trick you by being "unique" and "different" and not so "mainstream". This game just screams "hipster". Pretentious POS game.

(Same goes for Bitrunner btw. Any person that says Bitrunner is a homage to 8-bit gaming should be shot in the face. I was around 8-bit gaming and it was great!)

StingingVelvet: ...Secondly I don't agree with paying more to have a DRM free option, that's just ridiculous. Also he should want to encourage purchases on his site since he gets 100% of the profit, rather than dissuade people from buying there with 5 times higher prices.
I also think it's an unwise move. In the end most people will take the cheapest option and he will have to pay royalties to Steam and will be completely dependent on Steam and will end up with less profit. But on the other hand his games profit from the popularity of Steam. So of course it's his decision, but in general nobody should pay premium for DRM free. It should be similar prices and just people decide which system they like more.

But I am not interested in the games, so...

I am really enjoying Anomaly and Bit.Trip Runner. I got through a couple of levels of AYIM, I think it's fun. Maybe I'm trying to be hipster, only ironically.

I was definitely around for 8-bit gaming too and don't think B.T R isn't trying to be that. VVVVVV is more on that wavelength.
