Counterstrike 1.6 is 1.49 pounds on Steam's daily deals. If you haven't tried this game yet, you absolutely must. An absolute masterpiece and a genre of its own.

I grow up with cs1.6 (and with cs beta 7.1)

Yeah me too! Been playing since 2000 and still going strong (though I did quit 'hardcore' gaming, just playing pub and mixes now). Easily the most value I ever got out of a game, and I actually got it for free!
I ended up buying dragon age 2 from amazon for 6USD. Yes, I've heard a lot of people say its a terrible game, but for 6 bucks, I think I can see for myself how bad it really is without too much of a strain on my wallet - plus it serves to advance the plot, I guess, since I did enjoy the first one.

I loved the first one, but I honestly wish I hadn't even played the second, it ruined the memories of an awesome game :(
It ruined nothing and I would have bought it with that price myself. DA:Origins is a different game, I hoped that it DA2 would be better but it is a cheap price from that. Still.. EA likes to milk the first one. Anyway.. Dragon age 2 isn't a bad game.. But if you wanted that to be more, it's like eating a cactus. When baked in butter it isn't so bad. It just leaves lifelong scars inside.

Edit2: still cheap for that price.

Ugh.... Before anyone else tries this, if you have any $5 Amazon promo codes, don't try using them yet.

I applied one of mine as a test, and two things happened:
1) Promo code did not apply
2) After attempting the same code on a couple more games, said promo code became listed as "used"

I'm going to contact support now... :-(

Edit:
The applicable games are listed at http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/?docId=1000728511

Edit2:
NVM, the gift card help page tells me not to worry.

It's probably because it still isn't January 1st in PST zones, and I believe Amazon servers use that as their time.

EDIT: Seems to be the case indeed - https://forums.aws.amazon.com/thread.jspa?threadID=24621

Wow, I didn't realize PST was that far behind... Thanks!
I've sent in a support request about the disappearing promo code, so I guess all that's left is to wait.

Yeah... I'm wondering if I should stay up to try and get Shogun 2 for (almost) free before they raise the prices :P

Same, except I guess it's nearing evening here so waiting's not too hard. Well for a chance at (almost) free Shogun 2, I'd stay up late, too.
In regards with the Amazon best selling games of 2011 - i'd question some of the games on that list.Geeez. No much to choose from (that i havent got)and i have 6 x $5 promo codes :/

Well it's best-selling of the Amazon Game Downloads store not overall.

Yeah it's not a great list. But if they keep the discount I'd be able to get Shogun 2 for nearly free and maybe get DA2 for a friend for $1.
Mostly EA games or Sim3 related.. not going to be worth it once it hits Jan 1 in US
