MonstaMunch: I only just discovered (by accident) that GG is also doing 4 games for the price of 3, which includes games that are already on sale. Everyone except me probably already knew that, but thought I'd mention it just in case.

gyokzoli: Lol, I just bought 3 games...
Ask them on Twitter or write to Support. They could allow you to pick another game for free.

Patrician 3 is a great game.
Railworks on Steam now 90% off. I'm kinda interested but i wonder about the replayability with just the vanilla version?

sharkymouth: Just noticed X Superbox seems really cheap on GG at the moment for just over a fiver (£5.09)...

I registered on Steam and received the new Albion Prelude release as well :)

mefet: Is it worth it? Believe it or not, I've never heard of the game before...
Any feedback/comment? metacritic seems pretty rough on the game...
They are sandbox games mostly (each one has its own story-driven campaign, but generally very short; past that, finding something to do it's up to you). The universe is huge, you can pilot almost every ship present ingame, from small scouts to massive capital ships, or control them in remote. You can focus on combat, or trading, or both.
If you like space sims à la Elite, they're certainly worth a try.

The Metacritic score is mediocre mostly because the games were a technical mess on relase, but Egosoft has supported them well over the years, patching out almost all bugs and even relasing some free bonus content.
On the bad side, the interface is still "meh" (especially if you have to manage a fleet), the game engine was never optimized for multicore processors and overall the gameplay is very time consuming.

Apart from that, good games imo, fun and with excellent visuals and music. By the way, check out how the TC benchmark demo runs on your pc http://www.egosoft.com/download/x3tc/demos_it.php

What's to 'replay' though? Isn't it just driving around trains? You either like it or not.
I see Metro 2033 is on sale at GG but it says it requires a 3rd party download and account. Does that mean Steam?

A lot of it, yes.

It comes with 5 free dlcs and it should last you 2 life times and then some. If you like the concept, do buy it. I do and I did; last year.

Requires a 3rd party download and account means either Steam or Origin. Metro 2033 would be Steam.

I like trains, my main transportation. That being said i wonder if the vanilla content enough to keep someone hooked to the game for several weeks or months.

- 8 Realistic lines
- 16 highly-detailed locomotives including Hitachi Super Express

I guess that's more than enough.

Thanks for the clarification. I doubt Origin would let me play either, though to be fair I haven't tried.
Just pointing out that E.Y.E. Divine Cybermancy is part of Steams daily deal. It is well worth the £1.24 asking price.
