hedwards: I ended up buying it, but it plays a lot better with the original controller. I've got a proper one from way back with an adapter so I'm sett. Trying to play on keyboard is just not right.

grviper: I adore this package simply because it has many different genres in it. There's even a roguelike.
The annoying thing is that the pack doesn't support the classic 3 button controller. It won't even let you just save it without having the extra buttons.
EDIT: Got it to work with xpadder, much easier to play now.

Nelvin: I played through these 3 games and I think each is a great game worth it's full price but if I had to choose only one I'd say Bastion is easily the best of the pack. In general it really has nothing in common with Braid except the developers are indies and maybe arguably it has it's own visual style.
My comparison was only limited to the fact that the major selling points of those three games are the art style and music. In all three I found the game play lackluster. I'm a big fan of indie games. I'd say at least 70% of my current library is indie games but, that said, there are plenty of indie games that deliver both in the art/music department and in the game play department.

mutishev: Hmm I am thinking to get Disciples 2 Gold from GetgamesGo. Wondering if it has any DRM, ny ideas?
Why dont you wait for xmas sale here on GOG and get it ? just a thought :)

Foxhack: Wait a sec. That set includes the Toe Jam and Earl games!
avatar
grviper: Yes. And they work. And the downloaders get you DRM-free installers And you actually should try buying it, because it worked for me (the only thing that was required was find a matching zip code for a random state).
Actually, I said that because Toe Jam and Earl and its sequel had been removed from sale from a ton of places because of rights issues. I'm surprised to see them at Amazon.

Also!

The Genesis Collection on Steam isn't tied to Steam. So... I'd rather have them there. Easier to redownload them. :p

You are welcome to use my zip code, 98661 for WA (Washington) though it will add a minimal amount of sales tax. If you need the city, it's Vancouver.

If you want one without state sales tax there is 92069 for San Marcos, CA

GOG max is 50% off... it's still $5 vs $3 at getgames...

Well at least on GOG you can be sure its DRM free ! :)

Antimateria: Killing floor? Is that like (pretends to be a teenager) mostly multiplayer thing.
It's multiplayer but 100% cooperative. You won't have to worry about getting 0wned by 12 year olds. It's a relaxing zombie shoot. Very addictive.

Also, Aside from zombies, it's nothing like Left 4 Dead.

A post on Steam's forums says so, but I'd take that with a grain of salt.

Yeah I thought about that ;) I was bored tonight wanted to play something different and it is so cheap.
It has DRM in the launcher, it needs activation first time the game starts.

Not sure if I like it so far. May be because of Skyrim, wanted to take a break from it, but can't stop thinking about some stuff I am planning to RP there. :D

That probably means that it's using a GPL emulator or one that doesn't allow DRM. You often see that with dosbox games on Steam.

Nope! They use a propietary (and pretty crappy) Genesis emulator.

I guess they couldn't be bothered to add Steam into the program... or fix the damn bugs.

Hmm... could be.

Checked the credits and it lists Stepan Dittrich as the developer. A quick google brings up the jEnesis & jEnesisDS developer as the first hit.

http://info.sonicretro.org/Sonic_Classic_Collection
"Sonic Classic Collection uses a modified version of jEnesisDS by Stephan Dittrich, who was hired by SEGA and was the lead DS programmer of this game."

I guess it must be some jEnesis variant.

It runs without the Steam client loaded. Nice. :)

Thanks for the heads up!

Any idea about the DRM ? Is it Steam or something else ?
