SimonG: You will be knee deep in black-brewed booze and awesome food soon. You can wait for LA Noire, especially as it seems to be a very bad port.
Hahaha... too true, I suppose. Doubt it would work on my laptop over there anyway.
Steam Daily is Borderlands of all shapes and sizes. Again. Is DLC badly Securomed?

What does badly Securomed mean? Are there multiple levels of securom I wasn't aware of?

Well, there's putting DRM on your game and there's putting DRM activations on the DLC.

grviper: DotEmu 2nd day flash is "DotEmu Collection 1" whatever that is.
Ah http://www.dotemu.com/en/download-game/1480/dotemu-collection-vol1
Includes Silmarils Collection. GET IT!!!

Foxhack: That is a ridiculous amount of good games for four bucks. I'd buy them for the Irem stuff alone.
This is my first purchase from DotEmu. I've had an account for quite some time, but hadn't seen an offer I was interested until now. The previous sale prices on the Silmarils and IREM packs were $7.50 each, which I passed on multiple times. I almost got The Abbey yesterday, but needless to say, I absolutely jumped at this pack when I went to see today's deal this morning.

I never heard they removed it from the first two DLCs, no. Luckily the first two are the worst DLCs anyway.

Of course, I am someone who dislikes Borderlands for the most part anyway.

Thanks for the heads up on this one. I have been wanting that Silmarils Collection since they opened. Now I have and everything else for $4.00. Assume Deal.
Just a small catch. DotEmu Gobliiins Trilogy doesn't have the Floppy version of the original Gobliiins. Already bugging the support about that.

I feel a bit stupid about buying the pack, since I bought Robinson and Ishar here, bought Silmarils Collection (with Robinson and Ishar) there for $7 and then bought the collection now. Still, $4 for Irem games and Gobliiins is awesome.

The first two DLCs require a CD key activation. This was dropped for the later two.

The easiest way to do it is go to the steamapps/Borderlands/DLC1 or DLC 2 folders and run the activation apps in there, instead of through the game. I had a lot of trouble doing it in game, but no issues activating things from there.

Had I known that beforehand I wouuldn't have ruined a couple of multiplayer sessions when it required the goddamn serial hahahahaah.
My main data drive may have died, but I managed to buy the DotEmu pack in time! All for legal versions of the Irem games. :p

But I guess the Silmarils stuff is fine too.
Anyone know how the DotEmu games compare to the versions on GOG?

I have only bought a few games from DotEmu. They are no frills editions packages. No extras like wallpapers and soundtrack etc. The games are of course DRM free and I guess they support the OS they say they do.
So far I had no issues with Vista 64 or XP OSes.

But since I like the extra goodies GOG releases have, I get them from here unless they don't exist here.

Not strictly true, they just don't advertise them, and they come packaged into the main download. The Last Express, for instance, has the soundtrack, and making of video. That's the only one I personally know of that contains extras, but I suspect there are others.

For what it's worth, the current $4 package is worth it for Transarctica alone (in the Silmarils collection). Surprised it hasn't turned up here yet.

Thanks for the info, I'll pass on the DotEmu sale there even though it's very tempting.
