Is blood bowl worth it?

Detlik: Is blood bowl worth it?
I have it , I think yes if your a Fan of everything Warhammer , just dont expect it to be as good as the real Boardgame tho , I think it quite complex to get to grips with properly and some fans of the Boardgame dont really like it.
so could my friend redeem Fire and Sword from beamdog sale on steam if I would get it for him?
I bought Dragon Age Origin Ultimate edition for $7.50 on Direct2Drive and I installed EA Origin Beta to activate the KEY. Worked perfectly. The only question i have is that the download size on D2D was 13Gb and the download size on Origin was 27Gb which was much bigger than i like because its going to take me a week to download it on my speed. Does anyone know why the Origin download is twice the size of the D2D download for the same game? Thanks.

I have had a look at Beamdog , I couldn't see any Steam Games on there at all.

The 13 GB download is the installer for the ultimate edition, which has ALOT of compressed data. The fully installed game (inc all DLC and the expansion) is 25-26 GB of uncompressed data. I have not used Origin myself, but I assume the reason for the disparity you are seeing is because it is similar to steam in that you download the game and it is ready to play, no install required.

I can confirm that for DAO Ultimate, Origin downloads the installed game to your hard drive. With older games they used to download the setup files and then install the game and they even gave you the option to keep the installer for backup purposes but they were in the process of migrating all their games to the new system.
If you want to backup the installer better download it from D2D because as of now Origin has no backup feature.

Actually there's an option to keep the installer around, you just have to find it in the options panel :)

If Origin downloads the installed game, then is there even an installer? I saw this option in Origin but how does it work? Have you tried it?

Damn, i made a mistake, i already started the Origin download. I heard that D2D was not good, thats why. I should have asked here first.

This option is useless, any Origin games from my acc (BFBC2, DAO Ultimate, DAO 2, ME 2 ...) don't have installer in these specific folders, so u can't backup games

lowyhong: Painkiller Pandemonium - 75% off. Worth the purchase.
i might buy this. Can you tell me the DRM type? Thanks.

That's what I was referring to when I said they used to let you keep the installers. That option only works with games that download the installer, newer games are downloaded in a already installed state and can't be backuped.

Have you checked the __Installer folder in your game folder ? ( for example D:\Program Files (x86) \ Electronic Arts \ Alice Madness Returns(TM) )

All the games that Origin downloads already installed have a file like this: (G:\Games\Electronic Arts\Dragon Age(TM) Origins - Ultimate Edition\__Installer\DISK1\EASetup.exe). I think you can run that to repair your installation in case you decide you copy the entire game folder to another machine but I don't know how well that works since it's not documented.
Older games downloaded the setup files to your game cache folder (something like this: G:\DownloadCache\cache\{ your-email@mail.com } ). That installer was similar to what you get from GG or D2D and could be run from any machine.

Edit: Ok, I found it the explanation on the EADM forums:

http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/5619973.page#13543891

As mentioned before the "keep the installers" option is useless now.

Will the newer games like DAO Ultimate have this __Installer folder? I'm still downloading and its going to take about a week, then I will know. In the settings, I selected to save Installer but someone here says that the newer games downloads directly without installer, so I will see when my download finishes. I have slow speed, so 27Gb takes over a week to download and when i get a new pc next year, i dont want to have to download again.

Is there a way to know before purchasing a game whether it can be redeemed on Steam or not? As an example, I'm thinking about buying RE5 for $10 on Impulse but i may want to redeem it on Steam. Does Steam have a page where they list games purchased on other digital sites that can be redeemed there? Of all the digital sites, Steam will probably be around the longest, so if a game has DRM its best to redeem on Steam, i think.
