jesskitten: Also while technically not a gaming deal, if you have an Alienware Arena account with more than the starter 1 point or so as of yesterday, their monthly ARP raffle draw is open for 2.5 days. (2 21" HD monitors, 2 Deus Ex: HR, 2 WoW 60 day game cards and 2 Dell.com $50 gift cards...)
Always wondered.. Is alienware some manufacturer like ibm, amd or intel? Or what is it?

They're a computer-making company, like Dell or Compaq, I'm pretty sure. They just like making high-end machines for really high prices.

I think Alienware is technically part of Dell, so one of their line of products. I was given a link at work a few minutes ago to some special offers section of Dell's site and there's some Alienware stuff on there, too. :P

Never bought Alienware stuff before, though.

Well that settles it.. Also, those greedy bastards. I'm done. Carry on.
Please someone from the USA or Canada be so kind and buy me Dragon Age 2 on direct2drive. I will send first the money via PayPal, or buy GOGs for the same amount of money. Plus, there is a 15% off coupon code (CHEAPASS15). So with the coupon code, the game should be 10.2 USD.

The reason is, it's much cheaper in the US than in the UK.

Cheapass15.. that's almost clever. And truly you shouldn't pay the full price from that game. It isn't bad game but it's a big slide down from origins.

I bought it from GOG last week but I haven't got time to play. Now that it is ~$10 cheaper.. sigh
Is borderlands any fun in solo-mode?

I enjoyed it.

Then again, I'm a lone wolf (er, fox) throughout, so...

I wasted around 40 hours of my life in it before I had to switch computers with very little warning, and therefore lost both all my progress and all will to play, so yes. If I had wanted, I could have wasted a couple hundred extra hours in it easily, it's just that kind of game.
If you would think about between two games, borderlands or two worlds 2, how would that go? If we more or less assume that you would play it alone. Well, they are in a different genre but still.
If you like shooters, looting, exploration, and post-apocalyptic atmosphere, Borderlands is great. They put extra work into the weapon handling and character skills. Enemies are always a mix of types, so they feel diverse. Played straight through until the novelty finally started wearing off during the zombie add-on.

You activate missions like many Grand Theft Auto style games. There isn't much to do outside of the missions except explore the map and fight random battles. Enemies respawn, chests respawn. If you die, you respawn with less money. You can level up if a mission is too tough. There's a clear storyline with sidequests. Plenty of fun in single player.

Yes! I played more than 100 hours only in singleplayer.
avatar
trusteft: Why should one avoid it on sale for the single player value of it? What's wrong with it?
avatar
StingingVelvet: Well it's basically a Call of Duty singleplayer campaign only much less polished or interesting. Also it is 3 hours long, and I say that as someone who usually takes longer than most people to finish a game.
thank you

Those add-ons.. any good? Or should I just save money and go just for the original?
