nagytow: Batman: Arkham City is available to pre-order at GMG now. Their -20% code is still valid so the price is quite nice.
Does it require Steam or GFWL?
I don't care about that .

Gamer's Gate has their usual weekend sales:

Of note:
Civ 5 for ~$17

Divinity II Flames (DLC?) - $10

Sims Medieval Expansion preorder is ~$27. For real, EA?! For those wondering, Sims Medieval is a Strategy/RPG game, not a Sims game (other than eating/sleeping). I'm sure the name's on there to get sales, as the most common criticism of the game is - it isn't The Sims.

[Way OT]
I know it's not the first time, see Hasbro's abuse of Xcom/UFO Defense. Oh! You like turn based small team tactical combat? That's nice and all, but try a RTT (real time tactical - Apocalypse). No? How about a FPS (Enforcer)? No? Okay, how 'bout a flight sim (Interceptor). Okay we'll give you what you want, Xcom Genesis - Nevermind, we canceled that. We'll give you another FPS, and a Reboot, to boot. Can't ask for anything more, can you?

Oh, thank you wikipedia, Xenonauts sounds cool. Uh oh - first title of the studio. I really hope it takes off. And they are hiring if you are in the UK and know Maya (so that you can convert 3D objects to 2D sprites ... okay... ) And the pay will be low, as they are just starting out.

[back OT]
And more indie games than you can shake a stick at for $4 or $6

Have you even played Apocalypse? It's a great game and you choose if you want to play the battles in turn based or real time. I always play them in turn based.
Play the game first, then bad mouth it if you still feel like it.
It's a great game, more complex even than the first game. It's obviously not the first game, but nothing will ever be the first game. Give it a go, it's a great game.

[OT Xcom/UFO]
Yes, I actually did. And while I actually like RTT games now, it was quite a shock to me in 1995. It seemed like the RT battles were easier (and much quicker) than the turn based ones (although it was exactly turn based). My biggest beef was with the setting and getting into the story and slow load times (Yeah yeah, 486 DX 2/50, S3 VESA LocalBus video, a 14" VGA monitor (Loop brand), and a mostly full 120 MB IDE HD - w00t!). So the problem I have with Xcom Apocalypse is me. I did play it quite a bit, but for some reason it just didn't stick with me like 1/2 did - both of which I finished. I know I'll come back to it someday... If I can find all five disks again...

FWIW, I'm working through the successors: UFO Aftermath with combo-mod (finished), Aftershock with ACM 1.9 (working through - it's HARD even on the default difficulty level)

That's brilliant. Means WB/Valve can't screw me over like they are with fear 3. Will have to purchase that as soon as GamersGate get it...

Gotta agree. Apocalypse was bloody brilliant. I too always played it as turn based and still have my original CD of it although it's now useless given modern OSes. Thank goodness for the digital copy.

I wanted to buy it right away, but during checkout it switched price to €uros. Yes I can lie and enter fake UK address, but do I have to when using regional pricing is forbidden in EU?

Also PayPal not allowed? Here, enjoy my middle finger GetGames.

Looks like I will get standard edition from GamersGate UK.

Fellow gamers, direct your anger to the publishers and retailers, not your fellow gamer.

the only point was you specified it changed to Euro's and that you could lie and use a fake UK address.

I assume that is so that the checkout registers it in £ as that may be cheaper than the Euro.

That's very much it: £28.79 vs €44.99
Weekend Deal at Steam is Borderlands with 75% off at everything. 7.5 bucks for GOTY edition, which is the game and all the DLC. Very worth it.
