wodmarach: For all peoples complaining about price increases on games for PC's at least it doesn't seem true I remember paying 29.99 for Quest for Glory V back in the day, You can still get AAA titles for the PC at that price on release day even now...
Games have always been around £24.99 all the way back to the Amiga days. Speccy and C64 games could be up to £14.99. Things changed with the consoles an I certainly remember paying £59.99 for Street Fighter II Turbo on the SNES. People complain these days because most publishers match the PC price to the console one which makes no sense and thanks to the internets we can see the glaringly obvious $=€.
It's definitely better than past.

grviper: Infocom's interactive fiction reportedly cost $50 in the 80's. No refunds either.
Sierra's Time Zone for Apple II came out with $99 price sticker. I won't even bother adjusting for inflation.
As expensive as my Amiga 90 etc were buying DX:HR reminded me of THAT feeling when it really MATTERED when a new game arrived with the post or you got home from the shop with it and you were really excited about it.

But then again I was also really excited when getting Cursed Mountain finally for a $5 on GG bargain (it´s stall avaialble for that price).

So I toast to my fellow GOGers and shed a tear of nostalgia for the 90s. But the Internet is just too good. :D

dyscode: I cannot believe it !!!! I spent $34 on a computer game. This has not happened since, 8 years?! maybe. I mean, I rarely spent more than $5 on a game these days.

But DX:HR was just too tempting.... hopefully not too good to be true, actually.

I have some expectations...
You and me both, broseph. I also bought RO2 for $27. Way too tempting, both of these games.

Just bear in mind that the local console release date is Sept. 9th, so there's a good chance the current August 24 release date (as shown on the Steam store page) is incorrect and will be changed as soon as that timer hits zero.

I'm kinda hoping that Square/Valve learnt their lesson with the DS3 delay and the complaints it caused and won't pull the same trick this time, but given all the delayed release date crap we've seen with Steam (and thus, Steamworks games purchased elsewhere) this year, it's not looking too good.

+ it´s Square Enix, we know what to expect from them...
actually if it´s delayed it´s more convenient for me cause I have more work right now. Some deadline creeping up.
But this is ONLY me. right now. Of course it sucks for everybody else if it happens.

Indeed. The delay doesn't bother me that much as I'm also really busy right now. Just as long as it doesn't turn into another Fear 3.

For that matter the current date for Dead Island may also change as according to someone at Valve the publisher has indicated that the release should not be distanced from the console release date by too much. So we might end up with a late October release date. Of course, I'm not convinced about the quality of that game. Especially given that first trailer, I just can't see it living up to that so I don't think I'll pre-order. I'd rather wait for a demo...

Wow, then I wait. If they correct the price to 75% discount, I will buy it.
You're right, wait till they have fixed it :p

grynn: [s]I guess that banner indicates other games on sale, as it says "save up to 75%".[/s]
But there is a separate 75% indication at the Men of War logo.

mod: I just got a response on Twitter:

@gyokzoli The 75% deal will go live soon :) /Angie
