I can confirm that the steam versions are also drm free. Just taken them out of my steam folder, put them on my steam-less netbook and run them.

thats funny, they mentioned in their blog that they included the basic steam drm, maybe they LIED...

Well I played Dungeons of Dredmor this morning. It was totally awesome, AND I noticed that it didn't have a steam overlay, so yeah, chances are the DRM isn't on there.

8 bucks for the best D&D game since Torment is insanely good value, yes.
Original campaign is also worth playing, haven't tried Storm yet.
