It's probably because I've been buying game on Steam in sales for years now, but this current sale doesn't impress me. There are basically only 3 games I'm interested in that are not regionally restricted and one of those, for whatever reason, is discounted in every region except Japan.

I don't have time or the desire to buy games simply to try and earn achievements for DLC, so not impressed in that respect either. Although I hope the Killing Floor character pack at least gets sold when its released =/.

Allegedly the KF Facebook page confirms it will be available for purchase. I didn't bother to verify it though.

Looking through the steam sales, and found a Paradox Fantasy Pack for $7 or so, with lots of Majesty and Elven Legacy games, but I'm not very interested.

I did run into a Hacker game which looks interesting. Always wanted to "try out" being a hacker, but I'm afraid I'll get bored. There's a similar game, Uplink, that's a bit more, but I've heard better things about it. Anyone played these before?

I got Redemption a little after it came out. They haven't released any of the promised additional content since then. You might already know this, but it's pretty much deathmatch levels from Painkiller with a lot of enemies, and you play as Daniel and Belial.

The levels are flooded with absurd amounts of enemies. The first level has over 1000. The next level has about that many too. You typically spend about 7-10 minutes in each room mindlessly spamming rockets into haphazardly placed hordes. You'll destroy a wave, think you're finally done in that room, and you're only halfway done.

I had infinitely more fun with Daikatana. Say what you will about my tastes, but I liked Daikatana more than Painkiller Redemption. You might just want to consider playing through Painkiller Black again. ;)

try the Hacker demos FIRST, they are a specific kind of game mechanic that appeals only to certain tastes but gets quickly boring for others - like me.

Get Introversions UPLINK instead. This the far superior Hacker Game! esp. compared to Hacker.
Plus, there is a ton of MODS for Uplink to spice things up.
