SamuelErikson: A quick note for anyone feeling overwhelmed by the sheer number of discounts in the Steam sale: I've found that Bansama's site is quite useful in that regard. It's sortable (although the sort arrows can be a little hard to see) and it updates fairly regularly: http://didimatic.com/dd/en/onsale/steam
That's a great site

Oddbox $5.09 for example is a great hidden deal.
Also SAIRA 75% off $2.50 for the first time AFAIC Remember!

this is one of the most beautiful exploration puzzle J&R games I ever played.
the control-layout is a bit off but the game-mechanics are spot on.

Gameplay is a bit like vvvvvvvvvvvvv but with exploration.

Also
Tiny Bang Story 66% off $3.40
Dreamfall: The Longest Journey 75% off $5

I'm going to be so pissed if the prizes are one time only and only available for the Steam versions of the game.

I bought the X Superbox on Gamersgate. I'm also stuck at a research program and purposely chose not to bring my gaming rig so I won't be too distracted.

Yeah I know, totally crazy for a Steam prize giveaway to be limited to Steam...
Shatter for 2,5 bucks? Bansama's website unleashed a monster within me.

Or, you know, the devs could release it later for free?

How should I know to hold off buying something more than a year old because 6 months or so later another version gets extra content on another platform? Or are you telling me to buy literally all my games off of Steam ?

I'm saying you shouldn't be surprised or upset or incredulous. No shortage of examples of select levels, DLC, whatever being tied to specific services/retailers in today's industry.

Of course I'm not surprised; DLC is a cancer that spreads everywhere but on Nintendo's platform. To be fair at least Rockstar did a good job with DLC on GTA 4, but the vast majority of times it is plain unfair. I will still continue voicing my disapproval so long as the industry is like this.
One day after picking up a bunch of titles here at GOG, I ended up getting "Back to the Future", "Lost Horizon", and "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion: Game of the Year Edition Deluxe" on Steam. No more shall I purchase for at least 5 fortnights.

The only reason I'm participating in their ticket shenanigans is so I can get the Zombie Driver stuff. I'm sure the Killing Floor and Serious Sam stuff WILL be exclusive to this event. The X3 stuff will be exclusive too since the game has achievements in Steam.

Saira is really good. Initial impression with the demo was "controls are shit", but you'll get used to them, and then you're set to enjoy a beautiful, atmospheric 2D platformer.
Will probably spend my tickets on either Killing Floor or Alien Breed. Depending. Eh, will decide later, when I see what else is available during the week.

Edit: Got Back to the Future, and Lead and Gold.

JUST IF you are considering Painkiller Games,

they are on Sale on GamersGate, too.
And some of them are DRM FREE there, like
Painkiller Redemption.

Already got Painkiller Black from here, and own Overdose retail. I might get Redemption from there, dunno yet.

Edit: Also did my good deed of the day and pointed someone who had issues with Painkiller Black on Steam to GamersGate. Privately, I don't want to be banned. :P

I'm just waiting for the inevitable indie bundles.
