didamangi: Anyone willing to help me get Split Second on direct2drive.com? (it's region restricted)

I'll paypal the money first.

Navagon: If you haven't already I'd make sure that you can receive regionally restricted gifts through D2D first. I know it's not as easy to do that through Steam as it used to be.
Thanks for the warning, it seems D2D does lock the game if it's not on your region..

No S/S for me :(

Yeah, me neither. Not unless I'm willing to spend twice as much at the same store for the same game. Sod that.
I decided to take a punt on Precursors on Beamdog given the feedback i've read. You can use the code SURVEY15OFF to get a further 15% off the price.
At $4.28 I couldn't pass up AvP, even if it sucks, which I doubt it sucks as much as I've heard.

AvP 2010? It's not bad by console FPS standards. Certainly not for that price. The only real failing is in how it tries to squeeze the controls for 3 species into one controller. The end result is no crouch option. That said, the Predator is at least a lot better than the 2000 version. So there's that at least.

I never played the 2k version and got this one on a sale also. That said I really enjoyed the game and played the whole thing.

Its a shame the multiplayer in 2010 is a laggy, broken mess.

Batman Arkham Asylum for Xbox 360 for 16.99 USD.

You probably have around 15 minutes to jump on this one before the lot sells out.

Mamutte: Game give away of the day: King's Smith 2
This looks like a really awesome game but there is a time limit to activate. What happens if I format and month from now and have to re-install?
Looks like I wasn't the only one to buy The Precursors from Beamdog. From twitter:

@Beamdoging: "OH GOD OH GOD WE'RE SO SORRY. The Precursors has sold out! A digital game, selling out!?!?! Well, we ran out of keys from the publisher."

@Beamdog: "FRET NOT! If you weren't able to take advantage of our 75% OFF THE PRECURSORS sale due to our lack of foresight, the sale will be EXTENDED!"

So I guess anyone interested will have to wait a few days for more keys.

I have about a quarter in the bank right now so I'm SoL anyway but also a bit cautious after witnessing White Gold.

Do you know if Precursors is just as buggy?

Also putting up a reminder that Sandlot Games offers a free full game every week - for people whom haven't been following, this week is Cake Mania.

I would imagine so as it's in pretty much the same situation as White Gold. A lot of people have been raving about it though and there are lots of fan made patches by the looks of it. I won't get the chance to play it tonight as it's 6.7GB download but I will let you know what I think tomorrow.

This happens, apart from steam with its own key system most distributors get their keys from the publisher. It's somewhat surprising that they don't have the sale go through and offer a refund for those that don't want to wait for the key to arrive.

It's a problem that Mr. Gog has from time to time as well. But unlike most other retailers it typically just affects the online portion of game play.

It is kind of fun, although I'm not sure what the replay value is going to be on it. But, I'd like to see that question answered as well as the last time I got a game in this fashion I received a key.

I might purchase it. I've been playing it and it's a lot like Dragonester and Farm Frenzy. I like those kinds of games.
