jlg6184: Dunno, just used the serial and downloaded the most up-to-date version from the devs. site, and used my key from d2d to unlock it....

EDIT
D2D:

DiRT 2 - $4.95
http://www.direct2drive.com/8769/product/Buy-DiRT-2-Download

As usual restrictions may apply, see site for details.

OmegaX: I didn't know you could download the game directly from the developer's site without buying from them. That's good enough for me, thanks a lot.
Yeah, technically it is a trial/demo, but it unlocks with the key from Direct2Drive'

Hawk52: Other then the fact that Gothic 2 doesn't even run off Steam on modern machines, of course?
avatar
Metro09: Funny how it seemingly runs for thousands of other people who have bought it. But I guess if it doesn't run for you it doesn't run for anyone else, amirite?
This isn't the thread for taking a pot shot an entire day later in. if you want to claim Gothic 2's a steal by all means do so. I gave many reasons why the Gothic games aren't. There's an entire different thread for that, not this one.

Says the guy who started the whole discussion in this thread in the first place. Oh by the way, booted up Gothic 1 on Steam today. Worked fine. Over-broad generalizations are bad. Whether or not they work is relevant to the people considering purchasing them during the sale -- blame yourself, someone had to counter your disinformation.

I just bought the game and activated it just as you said. Thanks for the tip.
Also for anybody interested, if you use the coupon "marchmadness" you get an additional 20% discount, you would pay $6 instead of $7.50.
Up to 75% off select racing games on Direct2Drive. Just be warned, I don't think it's international, since I'm not seeing it on the co.uk page.

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit
Blur
Split/Second
Test Drive Unlimited
F1 2010
DiRT 2
Need for Speed SHIFT
GRID
GTR Evolution Complete
STCC The Game Complete
Race 07
Need for Speed™ World (Yes, for some reason only this game is trademarked...)
Sonic and SEGA All-Stars Racing
Crazy Taxi
Redneck Racers

It's also valid with the 20% off marchmadness code. For the mathematically fixated, that's not 75% plus 20%, (though 95% off would be nice), it's (X*0.25)*0.8.

On a less boring note, for anybody who somehow hasn't already played Crazy Taxi yet, or just thinks buying another copy for $1.80 would be nice, it's been butchered with the licensing and original music removed, though it's not too surprising. Check out YouTube if you're curious.

As for myself, I got Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing. I'd been holding out on that for a while, especially since there's no online play, but it's $4 now.

And for those who yes never played Crazi Taxi, do you recommend for $1.80 despite the generic music?

For any football fan, Football Manager 2011 is 50% off at greenmangaming. It's a Steamworks title, so you don't need to bother with the GMG-DRM.

Also, for all iiPhone users, there's ~50% off on most or all SquareEnix titles, to celebrate the launch of Final Fantasy III.
