CalamityRanger: Thank you so much for even saying Pathologic was on GG. :D I'm so used to digital distribution sites not having the game that I never bothered to look. Just bought my second copy of it, so one physical and one digital. <3
Just picked up Pathologic. That game is...weird but oddly fascinating on the basis of the opening half an hour. The translation is rather poor, but not so bad as I don't at least get the gist of what is being said (I especially liked the line 'Daniel Dankovsky at yours').

EDIT: What soes the icon that keeps popping up in the top left mean? It's bugging the crap out of me.

yes this is something "special"... ahm I don´t mean the bad translation. But the setting. Just play along and it gets even more unsettling ... and weirder. ;D

Does anyone have any insight of this game?

It's enjoyability depends on what you expect from it. A lot of players who have played Majesty 1 are disappointend with sequel because it's not Sim enough. (I belong among these people) They often found it too easy, while a lot of players who haven't played prequel find it too hard.
If you find RTS where you don't control your heroes directly appealing you should try it. It's solid game with nice graphic and though I expected much more I fairly enjoyed it.

It's sort of like a mission/quest driven Sim City. It's not entirely an RTS because -- as noted -- you don't control your units (aside from placing bounty/attack/defend flags in various hot spots). Basically you just build structures that amplify your heroes abilities, crank out more heroes and coax them to accomplish the tasks laid out. One major difference between the first and the second is that in Majesty 2 there is no 'free play' option so you are pretty much just limited to the campaigns.

There's a demo floating around out there -- I think at Paradox's website. I found it fairly challenging to actually establish a base because you are seemingly overwhelmed within the first few minutes. It definitely can't be played at a leisurely pace and you have to keep pumping out/upgrading heroes or you'll be overrun.

wy4786: Gamersgate has a bunch of strategyfirst games on sale right now.
Anyone played warrior kings before? Looks interesting.
I went and picked Battles up based on that kid's review at GG.

What I was wondering is which one is the newer one with more content? Warrior Kings Remastered or Warrior Kings Battles?
Bah! Wish Steam would throw up a bunch of sweet deals dammit. A few games i want between GG and D2D but goddamn it i hate having my stuff spread out all over the place.

The thing about GG and D2D is that they're not tied to client and at the end of the day, you could probably find a hack online to break free of the dial-home-to-GG for installation thing.

D2D gives you the whole game and you're just commited to the publishers' DRM.

I deal with two client-based sites: Impulse and Steam. The lions' share of my library is with Steam however simply because most of the games in Steam library cost me under $5 or were free.

Sounds good, but I think I'll just wait for the first one to go on sale first instead. Thanks :)

No hack needed. Look for a setup.exe while the game's installer is running. In fact, I've only encountered one game that deleted the .exe as soon as it was loaded into memory.

Interestingly, EA games that run on a mac use a .hidden file to hide all the PC files. So Mac/PC versions of the Sims are the exact same download.
