Roberttitus: What have you heard that was so bad?
Honestly, I have no desire to engage with you.

Honestly I have no desire to engage with you either (fuckin' believe me), but I want to know what is so damn wrong with the site... is that asking to much?

Fine... I will. This is the reason that I lose my fucking cool 9/10 times on this site. People think there goddamn shit don't stink (not everybody... most of you are pretty cool, but certain holier-than-thou asshats really make my blood boil).

It's yet another client based service, in this case it does call home every 3 days that I can tell. This is because they use a trade-in system where you can get rid of old games for store credit, system wouldn't work without DRM. In this case a SecuROM wrapper. If you play on your laptop away from the net then forget it.

As for their customer support i've only had to deal with them once and they were rather good.

Well if I just used to play the one free game, it wouldn't matter then would it? From your experience is it safe? Like did you get any viruses, spyware or shit like that (I know you may think this is a stupid question considering you are the one who told us about the promo, but I am generally curious)?
Imperium Romanum: Gold Edition for Free (!) on Green Man Gaming.

http://blog.greenmangaming.com/2011/03/fancy-a-free-game/

It's a partnership with PC Gamer, there is a code to grab on their website :

http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/03/02/imperium-romanum-now-free-to-pc-gamer-readers/

The code works this wednesday, thursday and friday.

When you are checking out, click on the VOUCHER button, to enter the code.

EDIT : Ah, in fact Delixe already posted the information on a previous page, sorry :)

For what it's worth, the SecuROM DRM by default is quite transparent (you have the choice to make it 'invisible') and require your authorization before phoning home. And so far (I have around 15 games there) I haven't encountered any additional DRM (like TAGES or Starforce) that limit your installation/activation.
when does the phoning thing come up after downloading the game?

There is a first time activation as normal for SecuROM when you install. After that the client will try to dial home every few days.

Delixe: Imperium Romanum Gold Edition is free on Green Man Gaming. Promo code: G4EEN-MAN1M-P5R0M

Damuna: Is it any good?
It doesn't matter. Its current trade value on GMG is 0.01€ but it will likely go up again. And then, you'll be able to trade it against another game. I already did it with one of their promo (free game when you register) and I was able to "purchase" Alpha Protocol with the trade value of the previous game which I never played. Alpha Protocol was a Steam key, therefore I never had to do anything with their Capsule client.

And there's my incentive. Thank you.
