trentonlf: Going in knowing it's a game to be played that way there's no way I could get upset about it if I played :)
It doesn't actually _need_ a table flip, to be clear, it's more that, esp. in the 11 player setup, days will go fairly quickly. If people wait for others to talk first, nothing will happen.

I.e. I'd rather people talk about PMs than not talk at all. If they want to talk about something other than PMs, swell. That's my primary focus. Everything else is gravy.

I'd rather people just vote.

Period.

edit:
Oh man... now I want to run that game! Everyone has the posting restriction that they can only vote, and say no more (or less) in any post! It would be glorious! Same would go for scumchats regardling NKs and any other night actions! hahahaha! Oh man... now I want to see it so badly...

edit2:
I would probably have to add rules to make people post... and days would necessarily have to be short... wait a second.. i think I might be describing the Russian Roulette game... Yeah... been there, done that ... never mind.

I agree with you, voting is something that not enough people do. It's a underutilized tool, could get you killed if you don't use it ;-)

Why don't you like the discussion/starting interaction for a bit before voting, anyway?! I find it to be potentially insight-opening, and the more back and forth and talking on D1 the more interesting the following days can be and more things can take shape a bit before forcing it all into actions that no one knows really how to judge.

I'm in favor for D1 being the longest day I think, and for it to be loonnnngg, if needed, for everyone to get a chance to talk about the situation and get a feel for things/figure out how to go about things. I do think good flavor is key to making a long D1 enjoyable though, but, the whole premise of a group getting together to decide who to eliminate from the group 1 at a time with added elements can unfold differently every single time and be interesting even if it doesn't happen fast.

Really, otherwise, the voting means nothing! Anyway...

I think voting should be something the moderator can call for mandatory from all players come a point in day if they want to with a "put your vote on the table and let's get this sorted but not end the day" sort of moderating style. You can put a "you must have a vote deadline" without revealing whether or not it will result in a no-lynch/end of day if no majority is reached, or not reveal what the consequences could be depending on which way things go or whatever, but still pressure everyone into placing a vote.

That was the first thing that came to mind.

bler144: Off-topic, but I don't really like this format. At least until things start slowing down you either have to sit and watch full-time, or just hope you get completely lucky.

One can argue a few of last year's sales were too slow (1+ hr), but 2-3 min is way too fast imo.
I generally agree with you. I prefer less hit and miss, and I certainly won't be setting an alarm clock to wake me up every hour or so with this one. I do like that one game won't be a consistent stall point (see above about Keane 2), and I can respect that others may like it more, but it isn't to my taste.

adaliabooks: Just a reminder that the last game to get that was Bookwyrms... <_< >_>

But I think this one should be pretty interesting. Bler's put a lot of work into it :)
Hey! My game was completely awesome with absolutely no flaws ever and never let anyone tell you otherwise! After all, I let you eat a brain!

bler144: To be clear, this is not Lift's game or Wyrm's game. There is a town with a collective win condition which will be posted, but town and scum will have to be willing to experiment a bit to win. But as I've hinted at prior, there's at least one bastard mod feature, and if the majority play their cards too close to the chest, it could slog and be frustrating for players.
Sounds interesting, and I'd be down for that. As long as it is clear up front that there is some element where you are screwing with us, I don't mind much.

I wouldn't mind waiting a game for Bler to get it together, and I'm wondering what Flub has in store too. I'm good with whatever.

Because the arguments are almost always the same. The discussion generally revolves around the same few points of interest. It is utterly boring and predictable. At least for Day 1.

After Day 1, analysis on wagons and voting patterns might be useful. Actually, there is no 'might' about it; it is useful.

In a nut-shell, I don't like unnecessary discussion. I also appreciate brevity, in general.

edit: I would still rather everyone ALWAYS have a vote placed on the person whom they feel is scummiest (except RVS). If someone doesn't have a vote placed, and they have no good explanation, then, as trentonlf states, it is a reason to kill them swiftly and brutally.

Your catch phrase should be squirrel from now on :)

Yep. That does pretty much sum up my opinion of most of Day 1 'discussion'.

bler144: I'm wanting town to consider "playing" differently for this game in particular, but in the end I think they'll win/lose on at least something like the "normal" routine of investigations and piecing together whodunnit.
You really want that no-lynch to happen, do you :P

One day, town will deliberately No Lynch on Day 1. And Bler will be sad, because he chose to sit that one out.

Town already no-lynched D1 on purpose. But dedo was not even GOG-born back then.
