Honestly, I don't quite remember. It's probably Grid or LEGO Star Wars the Complete Saga.
The first game I ever bought with my own money was Willow for the Nintendo Entertainment System. I just turned 9 years old.
Heck, I don't remember. That was probably two decades ago.

I never bought games new, but aftermarket.
When I was a kid, I saved up and bought my own NES with Super Mario Brothers.

If we're talking PC games though, the first one I remember buying myself was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Manhattan Missions.

The game play is a clunky mess. But, I had a lot more patience when I was younger. Really though, the box art is what sold me. I no longer have the game, but I still have that box.

I think mine was Warcraft 2. It's been so long ago though..............

dudalb: Complete Waste of Time was, I think, the third or fourth game I bought.
I would not mind seeing it on GOG,but there are licencing issues and it was a 16 bit Windows Only game and would take quite a bit of work to run on a modern computer.
Insta-buy! :)
Also - "Monty Python & the Quest for the Holy Grail - the video game". I think I remember enjoying it more than Complete Waste of Time...

teceem: The way I see it; it's money you can spend on whatever you want without asking permission. A lot of people have it until they get married. :-P
That was true of my pocket money, too. Dad would say, "Don't buy vodka*, buy ice cream", and the assumption was I could spend it on anything I wanted.

*Selling spirits to minors was made illegal in 1958 in the USSR. Before that, it had been legal but expensive and unaffordable to all but the very prudent and patient alcoholic children.
First one I remember is the Warcraft Battle Chest, with WC, WC2 and WC2: Beyond the Dark Portal.
"The way of the exploding fist" and "Dragon's Lair" in the good old days of the Amstrad CPC (tape version of these games)
I can't remember that far back. The oldest games I remember playing is The Oregon Trail, one of the anniversary editions. I liked to hunt for my supplies so I had a higher than normal rate of being mauled by a bear.
I don't remeber the first game I got.

But I do remember the first games we got (back in 1990s when I was 5 or so) Putty & Pushover free with the Amiga 600.
Grand Prix Unlimited (Accolade). You could build your own tracks so I decided to build a track with a (probably) a 5 mile straight so I could reach 300mph - it was boring.

Second game, Aces of the Pacific and saving up for a CH Flightstick for this game alone. I felt like a boss when I managed to allocate enough emm386 memory to get the damn game working.

I wish GOG would bring Aces Pacific and Europe, awesome games.
The first game I bought was the red alert

I remeber the trailers for that, we had them appear on TV. Great game. A pure clssic.
Some game for my Schneider (Amstrad) CPC 464.
