Please note Fallout 4 is on Steam and is not offered on GOG. However; with that said, since GOG offers 3 and Vegas I thought some might be interested.

Details can be found below (Play for Free from Feb 1 - 4):

Sorry I can no longer post links due to the stupid script down-voting.

I hope this help someone.

Take care

Interesting, thanks for the heads-up!
has anyone got past the C___R______(spoiler-free) at the beginning of the game? that is agonising to get past. i probably wouldn't have minded if they weren't so darn big on my 50 inch screen.
Is there an option where they pay me to play Fallout 4?

you could try upload gameplay to youtube and monitize.

50 inch,that's your problem.
The download size is ridiculous though.

That, and I've yet to install and play Fallout 3 and New Vegas either. Luckily I've already finished Fallout 1-2 and Tactics last year, so I am getting there. By the time I've finished the remaining prequels. Fallout 6 has been released and Fallout 4 can be bought for 3€. Heck, it might even be on GOG at that point for all I know!

But yeah, I don't feel like starting such a big download over my 10Mbps connection, just to try out a game for a day or two. I'm one day late anyway, the offer apparently started already yesterday.

I think I've once used the free weekend option on Steam, to play one of those FPS games where zombies run at you and you just keep shooting them. Dead Island, or some other such game (there are a couple of zombie games on Steam which I always mix up (EDIT: It was either one of the Dead Island, or Left 4 Dead games.)). I didn't like the game though, it felt too much like multiplayer with bots. I want a proper campaign. I guess the game was anyway mostly meant for people who play together with their friends, co-op.

On Origin I tried the Crysis 3 multiplayer demo when it was free. I didn't like it either, Team Fortress (2) is the only online game I care for, other games take themselves too seriously or don't have the same diversity in player classes.

timppu: a big download over my 10Mbps connection
My friend, who got that exact same connection complained when F4 was new about how it took over eight hours then to download it. Add the dlcs on tops of that...

Totally unrelated: Annoying strike today.

my wireless speed is around 10 even though i'm paying for more. i'm going to upgrade to a 5ghz wireless card this weekend and hopefully utilise more of what i'm paying for :)

Meh, I have a car.

But yeah, it would be a good excuse for someone to stay home and play Fallout 4.

You made me curious and I had to check what speed my wireless is, up to 100Mb/s it seems, not that I use it except on my mobile.

it's strange because even though my network card is 300megabits/~30megabytes, i never get a stable 2 megabytes per second. according to youtube, it's the default 2.4ghz network. 5ghz has a bit more of a kick (and cheap) so i'm going to try that.

By "wireless", do you mean your (4G/LTE) mobile connection, or wireless from your wifi router?

Yeah my 4G phone connection, which I do something use as my internet connection for my PC, can be quite a bit faster than my 10Mbps cable modem connection, but it varies a lot. At my home, I've seen it go up to maybe 40-50Mbps at best in the middle of the night, but during busy hours it may stay at about 10-15 Mbps, and lately at some days even down to like 2-5 Mbps.

The highest I've seen it go was when I was visiting Innopoli in Espoo (near the Aalto university campus area), I got something like 120Mbps in the middle of the day, Damn, I wish I'd get that at my home too, then I'd always use it for any big downloads, instead of my cable modem.

Those tests have been performed by using the speedtest.net Android app.

Ah yes, 4G/mobile, not WiFi, that one is theoretically faster than any of my computers or mobiles are capable of utilising :-D Speed was also only max promised with my contract. I never bothered to check what I actually get.
