Okay, as Amrit has requested, I am here to clear my name. I'm sick of everyone on these forums thinking I am a scammer. I AM NOT.

I originally didn't have money to buy a game on GOG here (Elder Scrolls: Morrowind) and I asked Amrit to gift me the game and I agreed to pay him back later in time. Fast forward a little bit, I get some money on Ebay after selling my Xbox 360 games since I've converted to PC gaming recently. I used some of the money on personal stuff and the rest was going to Amrit. I didn't take the money out of Paypal in time and since it was connected to my Ebay, Ebay went ahead and took the money for fees I didn't pay back for the previous month. I didn't mean to make Amrit feel cheated or make any other members of this community get a sour taste in their mouths. I am planning on using some of my Christmas money my mom is giving me in a week or so to pay Amrit back in full with interest. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. :)

I'll be here online for a while. :)

I have never heard of you before and have no opinion on the matter, but I am curious about the reasons for which your family needs to rent a car every month. (I fully understand that you owe me no explanation whatsoever. Like I said, this is just idle curiosity.)

Our only car we have owned in the last 5 years was taken from us by the bank and we can't afford a new one with all the bills. So we must put most of the non bills and food money toward our only car sadly. :(

Ah. I am sorry to hear that. I hope your situation improves.

I remember renting a car for 2 months after an accident... The amount cost a lot of money to be honest. I'd rather outright buy a junker car... Or a bike. (Get a bike, a good one cost you like $200)

Or walk, assuming you don't have a job or things to do outside of 5 Miles away where walking then becomes impractical.

I sadly do not have my drivers license yet. I have fear of driving due to my anxiety. :(

The car thing is my parents responsibility.
Hey everyone makes mistakes. I don't know you or have heard of you, but the only advice I want to give is that you shouldn't promise to pay someone back for something unless you FOR CERTAIN know when you can pay the person back. My point is that if you don't have a income, however small, you should not make those kind of deals.

But again, everyone makes mistakes. So apologise to this Amrit guy, don't do the same mistake again and be nice and enjoy the forums. Do that and I think people will have forgotten about this incident after a while.

Yep, that is so true. I just wanted to play that game so bad but yeah it was stupid on my part. I'm sorry for the trouble amrit. I hope we can forget this petty mess and move on. :)
First dont give your personal issue and family problem in forums or on internet for that matter, things only gets worse

Second dont worry about it, if you are not a scammer then people bitching wont make you one and gog forum is pretty forgiving and forgetting, so just chill, things will get solved eventually

Its up to you but i would suggest re-edit you initial post and take out the family and health issue

Hmm... If you're in a state like Oregon they have bike lanes, so the bike option is more plausible... Another option might be public transportation.

Still they've got to stop renting cars... it's like payday advances, they will only suck the money from you.

This is what aroused my curiosity in the first place. It just doesn't seem like a financially sound arrangement.

Assuming (and this is a big assumption) that they are able to find a $10 per day deal, it would still add up to $300 per month. Buying a $12,000 car like a Nissan Versa for 60 months would cost about $220. For a used one it'd be $160 per month for 72 months.
Glad to see this and that it is getting resolved. Life, lessons, and all of that. I'm glad to have you in the forums, hopefully things become smoother and as you said, the petty mess can be put behind us all and we can get on with the fun. Cheers. Bruce Lee FOREVER!
Talk is cheap, I'd reserve it for the moment amrit gets his money back after all those months.

Regarding the car renting:
Is there no public transportation and are there no used bikes available in the states? I can't imagine this.

I'm always baffled at how people are handling money.
I can neither afford a car nor public transportation in my town, so I take the bike (a really crappy one, so that it doesn't get stolen). The fact, that regional pricing is hitting me pretty hard is another problem, but I just don't buy those games out of principle anyway.
You just shouldn't live beyond what you can afford and never borrow money for things that are not absolutely crucial to sheer survival, in fact, I wouldn't even borrow money then but rather try to earn it in the streets.

Borrowing money for video games is just bollocks and so is lending it to strangers on the internet (sorry amrit, I know you're a good chap).
