So, the uk entry has been pushed of for the next one. I ask you, how do they find such awful emo noises to fill the space. I can see a historic first negative coming up! No I won’t post links to it, don’t want the association. I would say however it is a missed opportunity, with brexit (which I couldn’t care less about either way), they had the opportunity to use:

The song you suggested was very emotional. I see myself as a quite stoic man, but I had a hard time keeping my eyes dry. It spoke to the very core of my humanity.

Missed opportunity for sure.

Yep, me as well.
Never before has a track been able to create the smell of hobgoblin
On the topic of (past) missed opportunities in the history of Eurovision, this may have been one of the biggest:

I could swear I recall hearing as a small kid some Eurovision winning song where the in the lyrics there was a part where the singer (I think he was a man) kept repeating "Eurovision... Eurovision...".

The reason it blew my mind back then was how differently he pronounced the word to what I was used to hearing ("Eurovision"). To me it sounded like he was repeating "Öööö-hooo-viiz-jo". Who the heck pronounces the word like that? Maybe he was singing in French or German, not sure.

I just checked the winner songs by year from Wikipedia, and I couldn't locate such song. I could swear it was a winning song, but maybe I remember wrong. Hey, I was a small kid, kid's can make mistakes! Maybe he became second or something.
