grimwerk: Due adze ewe pleas.
Thats Manigenarian. Not what I requested.
Okay, I won't drop any codes. But is it okay to drop a free game? Oh, I guess that's what you were talking about to begin with. Good thing the below "code" doesn't include the first four characters then (NALS), otherwise I would've totally just dropped a code for System Shock 2 then.

Heh, the anti-code droppers seem desperate enough to get their anti-code dropping points across. They forgot that there are no rules against codes dropped and that if anything, they're leading their own witch hunt against god knows what other generous souls are out there.

My codes may be Steam codes, but since they're mine, I'd do whatever I wished with them. Sliced them apart, threw them there, burned them, whatever. Whoever is a hostile anti-code dropper, YOU are not a moderator for this community, and there are no rules to ever prevent that, your case was lost to begin with, not to mention you are probably too hostile to even moderate the community and its giveaways if given the chance. No, the fact that you are hostile to code droppings makes it less likely for people to listen to your reasoning.

Just my 2 cents.

I believe Sachys already explained the situation very well.
Sure, you can even drop your logins and passwords, just please, use relevant forum.
Of course nothing will stop you from supporting beings like this: I have grabbed games titles for over 2500 $ in cash for free
i watched that beavis butthead video, tried to buttplug my computer, and now i am in jail for sodomy and interspecies erotica.

Really well? He's saying "this is our forums" as if suddenly a group of unnamed people suddenly owned the forums for themselves, himself included, when actually the forums are the property of the GOG.com staff and to use it is a privilege given by the staff and not a right, etc etc etc.

Until a staff member deems that dropping codes out in the open is a wrongdoing, who are they to say "this is our forums, please do not X, Y and Z"? That's the point.

Well, I think that the staff themselves suggested to avoid dropping codes here (or even trading?).

Sachys isn't exactly a diplomatic guy, but the point is that:
- your codes will probably be stolen by scammers' bots or alts.
- you'll attract more scammers.

So basically you wouldn't do any good deed, except harming the community.
You're obviously free to do what you want, but.. please don't : (

A quote from Judas:

" I hope we, as a community, have learned to be more careful with our giveaways and about gifting in general. Just for the record, we aren't calling for a complete moratorium on giveaways, just that the gifters make the giveaways something fun and less prone to abuse by requiring a modicum of effort on the part of the entrants of said giveaways."

- thats from the public hanging of lugum (poor sod!).

...and theres more in the old classifieds and probably the old ninja thread too - just off the top of my head.
