Mr. Sarcastic: Does Anyone Know of Any Actual Halloween Themed Games?

Mr. Sarcastic: I get that it has a Halloween vibe, but it doesn't actually have anything to do with Halloween, or even reference Halloween, does it?

Mr. Sarcastic: Games like Batman: Arkham Knight are good to play during Halloween but are not directly about Halloween so they aren't limited in any way as far as people only wanting to play them at a certain time of year.
I would be happy with more games like that.
I think you're sending out mixed messages here...

There are a lot of games that you can play on Halloween, but that are not directly Halloween related.

But after reading your different posts, I'm just not sure, what exactly it is that you seek: games directly Halloween related (as your initial question and post #3 imply), or games that are simply fun to be played on Halloween, since they support "the spirit of Halloween", as in: they are spooky and scary, and simply "fit the whole "night of the dead" theme"?
(as your post #14 implies)

You will receive better suggestions, if you manage to make up your mind.

I was thinking something similar :)
What else than parties is it about? There's no story behind it that could be covered in a game.

All it means to mee is sales named after it ( ... and some "ok" scary movies).

I haven't really changed my mind. I just said they can be actual Halloween games like Costume Quest, or since very few games like that exist, I expanded it to include games that just reference Halloween in some way like Batman: Arkham Knight.

I thought I made it clear I wasn't talking about "games that you can play on Halloween, but that are not directly Halloween related."

See? You do it again.
There are also games which change the scenery and the items when the PC calendar detects Halloween, like "Craft the World".
Jack in the Dark (1993) - a mini game which serves as the prelude to Alone in the Dark 2 (1993) game, available on GOG as a bonus.

Here you may read about it in detail:

"It is Halloween, and Grace Saunders is out for tricks or treats, when she enters a small toy store and gets locked in"

That's a helpful list. Thanks.

That's a good one. I forgot about that one.

Not quite. The small difference seems to be whether Halloween is explicitly mentioned in the game or not. Apparently Arkham Knight takes place on Halloween, so it's in, a spooky game that you could play on Halloween but that makes no explicit reference to the holiday would be out.

"Pumpkin Jack" is a character, directly related to/inspired by the classical "Jack O'Lantern" legend of Halloween.

I would argue, if your goal is to play something "directly Halloween related", one might find it hard to get any closer to the theme, than with THE "Pumpkin Jack"/"Jack O'Lantern" as the main character.

And yet: the OP wasn't too keen with the suggestion made by hudfreegamer.

Easy.

No argument from me there, it is a rather arbitrary distinction. But the OP made it clear that it matters to them for some reason or other. *shrug*

If it had been only about Jack O'Lanterns though - there is a violence level in Zortch that turns all humanoid alien enemies into pumpkinheads.

And while (so far unsuccessfully) looking for a screenshot, I found a Halloween game by the creator of Ocean's Heart on itch.io, Hallow's Eve.

In fact, you can probably find a lot of small Halloween-themed indie games on itch.io.

Did you even look at the list?

So a person could play Dead or Alive 5 Last Round 15 times each day for 11 days?
