Retroman88: Well I never thought I'd be saying this but I think Cyberpunk has really blown CDPRs reputation to pieces.
I don't completely agree ATM (although I understand your point and you may very well be right).
Did CDPR do a huge amount of harm to their reputation / brand? Certainly...
... but...
... everyone makes mistakes.
What counts is how they move forward from this low point.
Do they learn from these mistakes? Do they regroup and re-affirm their original mission? Or do they double down on bad ideas and continue to fall into the abyss?
I think true fans of CDPR hope the company can regroup, re-affirm their original mission, and work to repair their reputation a la Hello Games and
No Man's Sky. IMO -- if they take this path -- many over time will forgive them. (it does help IMO that many claim they can still see brilliance under the bugs and brokenness of CP2077)
But if they do the minimum of patching and pivot almost solely to MP and monetization... well...
Ambition can be a great and terrible thing. After
Witcher 3 it seems CDPR may have lost perspective and believed they could do the impossible...
... but...
... the impossible takes a lot of money... and with that borrowed money comes outside demands. And when you are used to taking as long as needed to make a game work, investors often won't wait for the "impossible."
Too bad
