Fata Deum - singleplayer god sim
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/42bitsentertain/fata-deum-the-god-game-genre-is-back Wishlist entry As a powerful god you fight against up to four (AI) gods to rule a fantastic world and its mortals. These mortals act self-sufficiently and need to be persuaded to follow you. But how will you achieve this? Will you
Conquer or convince Build great armies to expand and gain new followers by force. Or establish wonderful settlements, improve their cultural value and convince others to join your path.
Fata Deum allows you to focus on building and support aspects to raise a civilization like none before and gain new followers based on your cultural value! Build up large walls and defend towers to save your family from any villains or bloodthirsty tyrants, build farms and sawmills to let your civilization grow and prosper.
Sound boring? Become the bloodthirsty tyrant instead and build barracks to train your mortals, raise lousy shacks to gain more and more of these lazy mortals for your terrifying army and sacrifice them to summon powerful demons!
With such an army you can conquer any of these weak civilizations, which believe in education and fun - ridicilous!
Frighten or foster The more followers you gain the more power you receive to cast very different kinds of wonder! But how will you use your power?
Will you support your beloved followers and work good wonders to increase their energy, health and productivity? Will you save them from any evil influence and spread love to further expand your realm of peace and happiness?
Maybe? You can also focus on weakening your enemies, by spreading fear upon the weak! Undermine their morality with dark visions, weaken their productivity or kill them directly - the most efficient thing in the end. Over time they will understand that you are the strongest god and worship you, even if you did not help them much (or at all..). In addition, it also makes sense to torture your own followers here and there, to remind them not to stop working!
Raise or ruin It is not necessary to get control over all mortals and build up large settlements to become the god with the most followers. It can be tricky, but burning everything down (at the right moment) and ensuring the few that do survive follow you would be enough to win the match in the competition's terms; you did not make the rules, right?
More the productive character? Show your enemies that your skillls to raise an empire, either by fear and force, or by kindness and support, are outstanding! Finalize your efforts by build up a large monument, which is percievable from every corner of the earth, so that all mortals will recognize your superiority.
Lead or leave All mortals have their own will, so they will act and evolve as they like - if you let them. You can watch them erecting their buildings, choosing their partners, their jobs, living their lives and only intervene here and there by working wonders to either support or prevent ongoing activities.
Become a loud and visible god, casting more and more wonders to gain their attention and convince them to follow you without controlling their minds (at least not too much). Get rid of all these kinds of micro managment aspects and totally focus on the funny side of being a god: work wonder!
Or do you distrust these small minds? Or believe that your glory will lead them to a greater good? Influence their minds during the night by manipulating their dreams to ensure that everything proceeds as planned during the day.
Decide what buildings will be built and which mortals will fall in love with each other to have full control of which skills and physical traits are inherited. Let enemies sign a peace contract or friendly neighbours attack each other, just because you like to see it, or because you have a greater plan in mind.
