CarrionCrow: Good evening. =)

Glad to hear you had a pleasant time with the whole holiday thing.

ElTerprise: Hey Crow :)
Thanks - aside from the "not-being-able-to-buy-anything-because-on-holidays-the-all-stores-are-closed-thing" i appreciate having a long weekend - although i don't give a damn about the holiday :)
Ugh. That's always a big pain in the ass. One of the many things I loved about having brick and mortar video stores around - they were often the only businesses open on "holidays".

Well it's one of the outdated laws we have. Shops are closed on Sundays and holidays. And the reason it's still that way is among other things an unusual coalition between unions and the Church....

Hmm. Never knew it was a divine rule that it had to be really, really hard to get convenience store nachos on a Sunday...

Well you have to rest on Sunday ;)

It's just silly - i mean there are still plenty of people who have to work on Sundays or holidays anyway.....

So, just to run with the nacho idea, I have to not get them pre-made, which would be more restful, instead putting in the time and effort to make them myself, which guarantees I won't be resting while preparing them.
Makes sense.

Yeah, it's pretty bad overall. Personally, I'd rather work a "holiday". More pay for the same amount of work.

akhliber: Good evening! *big return hug*

ElTerprise: Hey and Happy Birthday! :D
*big birthday hugs* :)
Thank you! I appreciate it! It's been a nice one. Nice, lazy and uneventful. :)

Well i guess you feel rested in terms of your soul ;)

Hm...well that's the real problem....why were are probably the only highly industrialised nation that has a ban on sunday shopping...the stores etc...would have to pay more to their employees for those days....

That is intensely silly...

It's very strange to see places around here that do that at all, let alone an entire country that does so.

You're most welcome and that's really good to hear. Also a belated happy birthday to your wife :)

Well indeed....
But i doubt it'll change anytime soon....

Probably not. When absurdity and practicality fight it out, absurdity tends to win.

Yes...unfortunately....
Okay...finished season 1 of Fargo. Kinda surprisingly, kinda not, it held up just fine for a full rewatch.

akhliber:
And a happy nearly belated birthday wish from me as well!

And yay it took me far too long to find one of these of yours to reply to. The wheel thing is certainly related to the mission difficutly (tougher areas have harder "spins") - glad you liked the write up! I'm just about to head back into the game myself.

It's always funny to me how radically different people's playstyles are. It NEVER did occur to me to play Planescape as a thief. At the time I played it, I was always big on magic user characters so I "mained" in mage, but I made sure I had some fighter stuff to bump my HPs and for when I needed to muscle my way through sections of the game.

The spell visuals were amazing for the time too. I still like that "wheel of skeletons" one LOL.
Update, if anyone was wondering (I was out of internet/cell phone range for the weekend): My grandfather has not had another stroke after all; he had some issues from his diabetes and some different blood pressure/heart rate problems. He had surgery earlier tonight for a pacemaker, which should help with all of that. There's even a little hope that the pacemaker may help with his overall stamina and energy, which has been pretty low ever since his bypass in 2006. He may be able to come home tomorrow!

I just popped on to call it a (late ;) ) night and saw this. I wasn't aware your grandfather was having issues but excellent to hear it sounds like things are looking like they're much better and not worse.

I'll be the first to gripe (occasionally) about the state of modern medicine at times, but it really is an amazing day and age we live in that inserting a device, into the chest of a human being, which sends out pulses of magical charged particle energy and regulates one of the most important organs of our body, is a routine and easy thing!

I'm sure for now your grandfather will be fine and it's great to hear he's one that gets to enjoy an improvement after his hospital stay! So lots of "yay!" and postive thoughts your way!

Make sure to spoil him when he comes home. ;)

*EDIT I reread that, and slipped an extra "s" in a word where it didn't belong - embarrasssing ;)
