Yezemin: I have decided to give Fran Bow a whirl. I just like the creepy look of it.
I hope you enjoy it! I really liked it. :)
Happy Pre-Easter all!

I'm was in for the night and playing my Insomnia haul - Renowned Explorers. This is probably my fourth "run" (think FTL run) through the game and I thought I'd share because it was hilariously devastating.

I'm rolling through the game. Last night I destroyed the "expeditions" I undertook, I finally seem to be manipulating the game mechanics in a way that *might* get me the win and the first one I do tonight, I crush once again. I'm finding treasure I never knew existed, I'm maxing tokens I locate, I'm winning every wheel spin (the game has a "Price is Right" type wheel you spin to resolve events, with the percentage chance to get a favorable outcome based on your character's stats). But the end of it, I'm in "third place" and well on my way to the "Renown" needed to win...

So naturally I undertake the most difficult final expedition there is. I sort of thought I "had" to, in order to get a proper ending. I've since learned that maybe isn't the case. But anyway... getting ahead of myself. Immediately something is wrong. Every spin of the wheel that I fail depletes my most important "resource" (a thing called resolve that I've managed to bank about 5 or 6 of, that you usually only lose when a character is KO'd in combat). I'm leaving important encounters without even attempting to spin because I can't afford to get a bad reult. I can't find the "keys" I'm supposed to be locating and I'm running out of supplies.

By the time I reach the boss of the level, he taunts me because I couldn't locate a single key, and proceeds to stomp me with his party, barely even having to engage himself. I think I may have been a bit overly optimistic when it came to my choice to go to this particular level, rather than trying to just score enough points elsewhere. Lesson learned ;)

Back to the drawing board. Anyway sorry for the wall of text, but I had to share.

Happy holidays! :)
That's a lovely story. I feel like I know more of that game now than I ever did :)
Hmm... could it be the difficulty level of the 'mission' also changes the odds of the wheel-spinning?

Anyhow, Good luck for your next run!
Wish I had a story to tell too.
With Planescape Torrent I had lots of these sort of 'Now I'm the Man!' feelings... which ended quite rapidly after getting beaten and/or blown to bits by new tougher creatures or such like... I did manage to get my first playthrough with a thief. Might have been a bit of a bad career choice there though, I maxed out all my thievery skills while carrying around a pile of powerful mage spells that I never got to use ;) But I won, in the end so I won't facepalm myself :P

Also I forgot to use my pickpocket skill except for a few times... That might have helped in getting lots of money. Also forgot to use detect trap skills lot of the time... Maybe I'm just not good thief material :)

-laughing- The game sucked you in, softballed you initially, then slammed you silly. Gotta love difficulty curves that feel more like surprise punches to the back of the head.
Just finished the Bang Tango Movie, it was a good watch. I wish they hadn't skipped over a few parts, like Joe's years in Beautiful Creatures (which also featured future Guns N' Roses/Sixx A.M. guitarist DJ Ashba) but oh well.

Not bad for a low budget indie documentary about a band that was on third tier of 80s rock bands in terms of fame (with Tier One being your Guns N' Roses, Motley Crues, Tier Two being your Faster Pussycats, L.A. Guns, Tier Three being your Shotgun Messiahs and Spread Eagles).

It was released for free on Youtube if you wanna give it a shot.

Edit: Might as well show off some of their tunes, eh? Just a few from their first two albums, mainly showing off their diversity, the songs range from 80s sleaze to funk to goth tinged The Cult meets Gene Loves Jezebel rock.

Their one hit from their debut album, Someone Like You: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXjb_mEhg1g
Also from their debut, Love Injection: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SE7sUZb0uQ
The title track from their second album, Dancin' On Coals: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4cD82FSVas

moonshineshadow: Well, Indiana Jones movies sounds like nice plan :-)

trentonlf: Do you have Divinity Original Sin? Is that your type of game?
Well, a bit late but, no I don't have it. Not my type of game. I never liked turn-based combat and seeing that the game also has a party of heroes I need to manage as well as this strange camera view from above... urgh ;-)

That's because you're supposed to play it in co-op. :P
No party management needed.

Happy Easter, lovely goglodytes!
Happy Easter everyone *big hugs and waves* :)
Good morning, folks! Happy Easter to those who celebrate it, and Happy Sunday to the lot of ya. I hope you're all having a lovely weekend!

Been playing a bit of J.U.L.I.A. and I'm *really* enjoying it so far. It's really neat exploring planets and trying to piece everything together as you go. Okay, time for more coffee before I run out of morning momentum.
