ddickinson: I am glad to hear you got yourself some good games. I am sitting at zero games for myself, and two that I received as gifts from the heartwarming wonderful and generous regulars of the thread.

A nice Easter sale would be nice, a good way to end the Insomnia sale. But who knows with GOG.
And there are still two sale items on your list. Hmmm.

It'd be a way to balance things out for those who don't like Insomnia sales.

AgentBirdnest: Groovy! :-)
Awww, you spoiled it. That was the next step after Owl still devastated their numbers and they had to flee to the moon to be safe. :-)

Are there? What two games are on sale that are on my list? But at least I only have 6 games left now. Once they are gone I am free from my promise to let people gift me. So after that I get to hide the list forever as there will be no more games.

I still think they should mix the sale formats. Have the usual seasonal sale, but keep the insomnia at the top as well. That way those who love the format get their wish, and those who don't still get a nice sale.

Stasis and Shadowrun ;)

Those would be Stasis and Shadowrun Hong Kong. The other four haven't shown up and I kinda doubt they will at this point.

I wouldn't mind. It'd provide balance. Want to do Insomnia? Go for it. Don't like it and want a standard sale? Here it is.
Insomnia's game total is less than 150, so a secondary standard sale with 50 to 80 titles wouldn't be straining GOG's overall library of 1,400+ items.

And yes, you're almost done. When you're at a hundred dollars worth of items or less, at retail price? You're very much in the home stretch for wiping out your list entirely.

Well you know, hiding the list and it being empty are not the same thing. I mean if it is empty fine, no gifts possible. But if you are hiding it, you could be filling it again without anyone knowing and that would be unfair.
Just saying ;-)

Besides, two sales at the same time would guarantee we see some truly epic fuck ups. :-)

-laughs- Certainly a possibility. I loved that feeling of the whole site trying to crash, burn and die when Insomnia started up this time around. Made the letdown that much more severe.

ddickinson: So you find some poor guy with a big garden and then set it on fire? :-)

Hopefully the weather will not spoil it all for you.
Yes the might be a concern - on the other hand all the wood which was collected for it is pretty dry - setting it on fire shouldn't be a problem :)

trentonlf: Stasis and Shadowrun ;)
Ah, now that I think of it I did see Shadowrun. I just forgot.

And hello there lovely sir. How are you?

I have heard some nice things about Stasis. I have not played any of the Shadowrun games yet, so I probably won't get the Hong Kong game until I at least know I like the first ones. It looks good, and I don't see why I would not enjoy it, which is why it is on my list as I am pretty sure I will like it.

That is true, it would be a nice selection for all customers, not just those who like a certain format. But I wonder if GOG's servers could cope, they already struggled with this sale.

I think it will be quite good to get rid of all those games. Then I won't have people picking on me with gifts and setting of my silly brain about accepting things that I did not earn. :-)

Are you spying on me? Or do you have some wishlist radar? o_O

But you see, because I am so bloody awkward about getting things, I would deliberately keep it empty so I can keep it hidden.

Tell you what, I won't hide it. That way you can always check if it is still empty.

Poor Agent. He would have a wonderful time there. :-)

I'm looking forward to playing Stasis, hopefully in the near future. (Believe it or not, I'm actually going to pick out about 50 games that I feel have a very good chance of being fun.) Shadowrun Hong Kong is also a good one, I especially like the characters. They spent a lot of time making them interesting, so you feel like you're bringing real people along for missions rather than cardboard cutouts.

I think that if we get anything like that, it'll be a standard weekend sale. I don't think they're going to do something big so soon after Insomnia.

If you're anything like me, it'll feel really, really great to have a list with nothing on it and no desire to fill it back up again.
We've already had the conversation about your feelings on gifts, so I won't bore you with a rehash of it. =)

For a second, I just thought your forehead was trying to give us all secret messages using backwards letters...

Have a good night, sleep well when you get there. =)
