Easy or normal mode. Hard was added in the "advanced edition" update, meant for those already experienced with the game. I dunno, I think starting on "normal" mode might be good. That way, if it is too frustrating, then you can start a new game on easy mode. If you start on easy, there will be no easier mode to fall back to :-p

You seem to know a lot about it all. Were you a big fan of the tv series and comics?

I will stick to normal then at first. I tend to start on normal mostly anyway. Then I can judge if it is too hard or too easy. I normally keep easy for times when I just want to play a game for some casual fun over the regular challenge.

And I will be sure to name one of the first crew Midshipman Agent. :-)

Well that's not really restricted to the 80s though - i'm a kid of the 90s and i mostly did the same :)
Why not make him a lieutenant provided he can pronounce that correctly :P

Hmmm. I am not sure. Probably not. That way I can give names of people I know as the characters and have more per game rather than me taking up a spot. But who knows, maybe the first few times I will be Captain.

Because Midshipman sounds more like the age of sailing ship. Although I think it is a Royal Navy only rank. I am not sure if other countries use it. But I could be wrong. It is the rank just below sub lieutenant.
