EndreWhiteMane: Didn't miss much.
Didn't think so. Odds of something I really want showing up are pretty much nil.

NoNewTaleToTell: Outside of the *insert game Crow really wants here* being given away for free for five minutes...but nothing else really happened, kinda boring.
-laughs- They put out the retail release version of Starcrawlers? Damn it, I really wanted that one!

Just had one of those random moments where I miss paper manuals and boxes.
I'd always read through an entire manual before playing a game. I can't remember the last time I read a manual...
Most of the games on my shelf were $50 games when they were first released. I would have spent so much more time on them, and cherished them more if I bought them 15 years ago. I really take it for granted (I think we all do.)
No point to this really... just fun to randomly see my library from a different perspective. Must be lack of sleep :-)
This is the first GOG sale I've sat through where they've offered virtually nothing from the first few years of their catalog.
Couldn't figure out why this sale just felt wrong and that's it. A new GOG for a new generation I guess.

I always miss paper manuals, goes back to my days of hiding under the covers with a flashlight I think. :-)

I have quite a few games that aren't terrible. ;P
I just have an awful knack for ending up with playthrough strings of the bad ones, one after another, even when I'm trying to find something good.

True, there are a lot of independents. Lots of good ones, but the balance between those and the classics isn't there.

I still remember the manuals for Baldur's Gate and Icewind. They were thick enough, you could bludgeon someone with them. Really enjoyed those.
Good morning - it's still dark here - or evening for most. Hope that you found the games you wanted on the sale. It was hard to grab anything because they went by so fast, even if you were sitting there glued to the page, which I wasn't.

My coffee has finished brewing, would anyone like a cup? I know Crow won't say no. Sorry to read you were sleeping at your desk again, Crow, I fear it's pretzel time. ;-)

Good morning. =)

Absolutely, thank you. Maybe with more caffeine, I can stop the dozing off at my desk crap.

-laughs- I sincerely hope not. Still nursing neck damage from the last time I did that for a few hours.

True fact. Within 5 feet of where I'm sitting RIGHT NOW there is a small "chest" that is about 3 feet high and 2 feet wide. It contains four drawers and is stored in a closet. In the bottom drawer of said chest is that wonderful, thick stock glorious spiral bound blue covered tome that is the Baldur's Gate II manual. Oh my God is that thing sexy to this very day.

I think I might have to whip it out and properly appreciate it at some time in the near future - this post may have inspired me.

Morning to you ZenWan, I'm all coffee'd out for the day and ready for bed but thanks for the offer. ;-)
Hope you have a great day ahead of you.

reading this actually makes me want a cup, badly strangely enough. I'm generally not a night time coffee drinker (I'll have some decaf after dinner once in a while) but something about the way this is written makes a cuppa sound amazing right now. If I thought I could pull off brewing a cup at this hour without losing my head I might *might!* attempt it.

Exactly. A throwback to when you could get quality items with your games without having to pay some ridiculous amount of money for a "collector's edition".

Good Morning!
Thank you, can I have some coffee?
Haven't slept properly since Sunday I think... this sale may have something to do with it.
But coffee is a big help :)
Are you getting any free time out of this Easter-thing?

CarrionCrow: Hi Crow, happy to see you, as always. :-)

<passes over a mug of Ethiopian coffee, watches Crow add caffeine pills (ugh)>

Hope you can stay away, watching Divinity isn't very inspiring. There were a few I tried to get, but by the time I'd logged in, they were long gone. Others are way too expensive for me, some discounts on older games aren't great, considering the price of the games in the first place. Hope you got a few good ones, at least.

Watch your neck, it's the only one you've got, and it can be really mean to you if you don't look after it. ;-)

Ixamyakxim: Hello Makim with x's I blush to confess that I've never played Baldur's Gate. :-( But I do still have, despite the move, manuals for Civilization and Rise of Nations, the games that got me into gaming.

Hope you found something good on the sale?
stoopid post all in italics. I think it's the brackets I used for Crow's coffee.. Stoopid brackets.. Growl.

If I remember correctly, it basically contained the entire level progression AND spell charts PLUS descriptions for D&D 3.X (whatever BG II was based off of - I think 3.0? I could be wrong on this and there's an off chance it was 2.0).

Well, I'm sure not the "entire" but certainly a nice chunk of the base game player's handbook selections. The thing is excellent.
