ddickinson: It seems really silly. The discounts do not seem that high compared to previous static sales. They will only lose money due to people not being able to gift. It makes little sense.
I got a theory about that. First you bait people with huge mariana-trench-deep discounts. You create a brand name and brand loyalty. Then you take away all the fun of the flash sales, eliminate the longing for the daily deals and reduce the discounts on games. And people still come because they remember the good old da...
