ddickinson: That is another show I have heard of but never seen. :-)
I have heard that US tv has lots of adverts compared to Europe or elsewhere. But as long as you are enjoying the show it should be worth it.

Traveling to Asia sounds nice. Whereabouts will you be going, if you don't mind me asking?
Ah okay :)
Sorry, was playing some Planescape Torment... We'll be heading to Laos... Haven't planned much yet, really.

ddickinson: Games do seem to have been better back then. And look at it this way, with the way graphics are regressing these days, many of the older games look better and run on lower specs than many indie games these days. :-)

I still don't quite get why the use of the symbols in context should be banned. They are WW2 games, so obviously the flags will be there. It is fact, censoring it doesn't change the past. But it is nice to know they are letting up a little and less things are being banned.

That is a good point. I guess we will have to wait and see, but as you say it is likely the game will stay on GOG for German users.
Well it might be due to the fact that back then even today's AAA publishers made some interesting games instead of sequel after sequel...

Yes. That's not a new discussion. The problem is that depictions of symbology from unconstitutional organisations (such as the NSDAP) are illegal. The are exceptions for that - but video games are not among those exceptions as they're not considered art or were when Wolfenstein 3D was banned in 1994/95 which is still the precedence in that matter. And no publisher dares to fight that... On the other hand it's apparently not possible just to declare video games as art....or at least it's not of interest to do that ...

Well it's the same with Saints Row 2 and 3, even Medal of Honor is available and some other older games....

And they knew how to code and optimise things in those days, they were not all just lazy indie devs recycling ideas and having no real coding skill. :-)

I think Medal of Honour was edited wasn't it? They changed the regular Nazi flag for an alternative. I guess that was not possible for some of the other games. I wonder why games can not be considered art? I don't always agree that every game is art, in fact often the term art is abused to cover up bad games, but I do understand it being classed as that if movies and things can be classed as art.
Good morning/afternoon/evening, everyone. =)

Hope you're all doing well today.
Well I will be going and getting some things ready for when my partner gets home. I hope you all have a lovely day. Take care!

*goodbye hugs and waves*

Hello, Mr Crow!

I am doing good, thank you. Just about to take my leave. So I will wish you a very good day, and I hope you are well?

*big handshake with a cup of coffee just for Crow*

Can't complain here. Have a good evening, feel free to tell your partner random internet weirdo person says hey there. =)

True - and i mean technically it's still possible - nowadays it's probably cheaper to use something like Unity - but even then it's definitely possible to get a highly optimised game...

I don't know - haven't played it yet. I know that MoH: Airbone which is on Steam is censored worldwide though...
Well guess which demographic the politicians in the 80s and 90s were from when those issues arose...certainly not from demographics with a general positive attitude towards games....

A common suggestion is that there only needs to be lawsuit which would render the depictions in games legal - but as i said, no developer or publisher would do that...

ElTerprise: Hi Crow :)

Doing all right here. Slowly healing up, music blaring, getting killed a lot. Normal stuff so far. ;)

Good to hear - especially that you're healing up even if it takes its time :)

What's your opinion on the new release?

Sounds interesting, the flow of it looks good, far better than the standard FPS mechanics, but it costs more than I've got to spend per release and my computer can't run it. It'll go on the list, but it'll be awhile before I get it.

Yes...despite having the rather excessive used zombie setting it seems like pretty good game - and i can actually buy it here ^^...
But my PC cannot run it either....not to mention that they forgot the Linux version which is probably due to the still missing Linux version of Galaxy....but i put it on my wishlist as well :)

Hi :)
How are you doing?
Edit: You already answered the question. Good to hear that - not the anxiousness but that you're doing good otherwise that is :)
Hope the anxiousness will be gone in no time :)

Edit2 : Shame on me ... i'm forgetting words (again)

Can't complain here. Currently loving the feeling of "Hey, I'm doing pretty well, might get this on the first try even, oh wait I'm stuck now, son of a bitch, time to start over".

Hopefully whatever's making you anxious isn't too severe and goes away soon.

Maybe it's a work in progress. Give it a few months, see how Galaxy's holding up with it, maybe the Linux version will come out by then.
