ElTerprise: Well i never really liked zombies that much in the first place - but that generally doesn't keep me from enjoying those kind of games now and again :)
I cannot be entirely certain about that but i doubt it because Techland never had any hard region-lock in their blacklisted games. Both the Dead Island games and Dying Light could be activated on steam by Germans.
I really love the old Resident Evil games, the PSOne era games. But that is about it for me and zombie games. The newer Resident Evil games never appealed to me, and neither do most of the other zombie games.

So is this game officially banned in Germany, or is it like many of the others here that are actually allowed, but for some reason not available always in Germany?

ddickinson: Thank you both. I am really looking forward to being at work more, and as long as my tests and scans come back okay and showing improvements I can slowly increase what I do at work and hopefully it won't be long until I am good as new.

*big thank you hugs*
You're most welcome :)
Let's hope that this will be the case then *more big hugs*
Just a sleepy hello to the Folks of Fred. I hope you all have a lovely day!

*big hugs and waves all around*
Zombies!
Hideous, mindless, brain eating killers.
Who still remember to wear proper clothing so as not to offend anyone. :-)

Morning all, doing fairly well here and I hope y'all are too.
*hugs, waves, coffee and toast with strawberry jam*

ddickinson: Good afternoon.

How are you today? I have some nice bluetooth headphones that let me wander around the house.
Cool, that's very nice! :)
Been watching MadTV's old episodes, they help me forget work... and some of the impressions are really good, like arnold schwarzenegger's...

sorry I just jumped in the middle of your conversations... are things good in the good ol' England?

Ah i see...the ones with the tank controls...yes i play at least one of that with a friend on his console...but those were more "traditional" survival horror with a slower pace than the current survival horror games ...

Nope...it's is only indexed which means it is forbidden to show any ads for it and there are several restrictions about selling it. But it's not a ban which would result in a confiscation and full prohibition of sale in Germany.
Good morning, akhliber and Endre!

I hope you are all doing good and that the day will be nice to you both.

*big hugs*

That is good to hear. I have heard of MadTV, but never seen any.

Things are going good, thank you. A nice sunny day, with only a few things causing me problems today. So over all a very good day so far.

I hope things are going well for you?

I still have the PSOne games and console (although I tend to play them on the PS2). I liked the older games, they had some nice puzzles, and some good storylines. Not quite as fast paced as the more modern ones, but maybe that is why I prefer the older ones.

Ah, thank you for that. I sometimes forget how it works in Germany. Would GOG promoting the game be classed as showing adverts for the game and thus violate German law due to the game being indexed?

Okay, nice to hear!

Ah, yeah, MadTV is a bit like Saturday Night Live, I guess, but slightly different. I think there's some clips on youtube. I found this US site CWseed that shows many good ones - although there's lots of commercials and you need to use a hola app or such to switch the region outside US.

I'm alright, the winter colds have left me in peace. Can't wait for summer - already bought tickets to travel Asia for some time :)

That is another show I have heard of but never seen. :-)
I have heard that US tv has lots of adverts compared to Europe or elsewhere. But as long as you are enjoying the show it should be worth it.

Traveling to Asia sounds nice. Whereabouts will you be going, if you don't mind me asking?

That's cool. I never had any of those consoles (the first and only one i have is the PS3)...

No problem. It's really complicated - especially since Mortal Kombat X - which is one the most violent games in existence got a rating in rating. Apparently it was an issue that you're able to kill children zombies in Dying Light....

Huh...that's the question isn't it? Do apply German laws for a Polish company with a German store front? I mean that's the reason for the existing locks on GOG....

I am the opposite. I have the older consoles, but never had anything past the PS2, except a Wii. I have never had an Xbox or anything like that.

It does seem to be a bit confusing with how they decide what will be blocked and what will not. Especially when older games are blocked with poor graphics yet more realist violence is allowed.

I thought that by opening the German version of the site they had to follow German laws. Plus I think if they trade in a region they have to follow local laws, don't they? What with Poland/Cyprus being members of the EU. But who knows.

That is really cool - because i have really great memories of playing on those older consoles with friends :)

Well those are different issues. Depictions of NS-symbols results in a ban, when it comes to violence it's a question whether a game glorifies violence or not - but it's true the organisations responsible for the rating got more liberal in the last years...

Well apparently it's not that easy - especially because it is legal to obtain banned games/movies/etc. in a foreign country (some general illegal exceptions excluded) - because the ban doesn't render the ownership illegal - those exceptions notwithstanding.

Hello there! Glad to see you'll be able to go to work some! The day is being quite nice to me. Playing hard with the pup and making a lot of progress on rearranging things in the house. :)

Hello there! Glad you are doing well today. I'm having a pretty fine day myself. Considering making a smoothie, or maybe a sweetened coffee or something, having fun w/ Sarge and actually enjoying cleaning as well. Good day all around. :)
Hoping I got formatting right... I should never do this on a tablet, haha.

Smoothie sounds tasty - sweetened coffee not so much imho ;)
Everything's fine with the formatting :)

Games do seem to have been better back then. And look at it this way, with the way graphics are regressing these days, many of the older games look better and run on lower specs than many indie games these days. :-)

I still don't quite get why the use of the symbols in context should be banned. They are WW2 games, so obviously the flags will be there. It is fact, censoring it doesn't change the past. But it is nice to know they are letting up a little and less things are being banned.

That is a good point. I guess we will have to wait and see, but as you say it is likely the game will stay on GOG for German users.
