I've managed to play RPGs through by first finding out the specifics of what I really want at the moment...

Not sure if it is any help at all... But one reason I have given up on long epic RPGs is when I found out that all the mechanics were too complex/simple, the story was too long/short, I hated the characters for being too cheerful/gloomy... :)

I mean it's a long journey, better find one that suits the current needs as much as possible.

That makes sense. Have to know what you want and what you're getting into before you drop 50 to 100 hours on it.

Hm...haven't played Thomas was alone yet. Interestingly enough i always though it would be here but apparently it isn't. Guess it was too niche ;)
