ElTerprise: It's a portugese game :P
What? You said any thoughts :P

*big silly hug*

But seriously - i really like the art style.
Is that a thought, or a statement of fact? Did you look at it and think "Portuguese"? Or did you just read that and repeat it. If the latter then that is not a proper thought, you are just repeating facts. :-)

I am not sure, I am always a bit unsure if modern point and click games are good or just interactive stories with little gameplay, and with this based on a comic I wonder if it is really made for fans. But who knows, it could be a great game, I guess we will have to wait and see what the reviews say. The art style is nice, always nice to see a game that is not "retro" style.

Empress_Owl: It looks great !! :-D [/very constructive opinion]
Better than that lazy ELT's answer, which was not even a thought. :-)

Fixed that for you! ;)

And today's game looks lovely, I REALLY enjoy the monsters (I'm a total child at heart) but not my genre :( Reminds me of the... Memoria games I think (birdcatcher ones)? Full of whimsy and a smattering of darkness but I know that the gameplay eventually will grow a bit stale for me. Which is a bit of a shame because a lot of them seem very interesting.

I had a near Crow video game moment last night. I've been playing a game through some long cutscenes and extended tutorial, when I finally come to an area where I can save. My first after probably close to 1.5 hours of gameplay? I save, and because I'm an oddball I almost always promptly attempt to load said save (when I play a new game, I always like to double check - some games have poor design and won't "really" accept a save unless I click the button instead of hit enter, or vice versa). No save. Try to save again, this time don't name it. NO SAVE. Try again, hit enter, don't name NO SAVE. Start getting nervous.

Alt-tab out of the game (please go back later! ;) ). Load up GoG forum and find a thread - read through and probably about 10 people also say it is impossible to save and it seems like it starts with a certain version uploaded to GoG. I start to freak out, thinking I'm going to have to contact support and won't be able to play my new shiny until they get me a patch or rollback and this might take a WHOLE THREE DAYS (yay First World Problems). But the last post in the thread has the answer...

Make a folder called "saves" in the game directory. I try to pull the game up and after a failed attempt or two it does. Okay, let's hope I can save now and not before a restart of the game (and loss of progress!) AND ... IT WORKS! Yay!

Lucky for me, because I set out from my base and am promptly blown up about 10 minutes later LOL. So folks remember, always save your game... and maybe even check it that first time too ;)

\o/ woohoooo !! \o/
What did I win ?? :-D

Ixamyakxim: ...
Well that correction is good as well, just as long as the game admits it is being cheesy, rather than pretending it is something all deep and serious despite being like a cheap 1980s b-movie. :-)

That sounds like a strange problem for a game. I would think GOG would have made a save folder in the installer when they packaged the game.

You can have anything that belongs to ELT as a prize since you beat him. :-)

LOL yes pseudo-cheesy soap opera serious is AWFUL. Self aware cheesy can be fun.

And yes, you WOULD think GoG would put a save folder directory in there LOL. I'm glad it was an easy fix and I caught it early on but that was a bit of a head scratcher.

Thanks for reading that wall of text by the way!

I refuse to read the wall of text! :-)
What game are you referring to?

Yes, serious FMV videos that are terrible can really spoil a game. But with the self aware silly ones it can be fun.

It would imagine it to be quite easy to add an extra folder there before packaging up the installer, even more so for Galaxy which copies files and folders over, rather than use the installer. I guess until they get more complains they won't bother to fix it.

And no need for the thanks, I tend to ramble on so I don't mind reading walls of text.

I think I made a monster! (FrankenOwl?)

I said anything, meaning one item, not everything poor ELT owns. :-)
(P.S. Just ask for the house, that way you get everything inside. ;-))

*sneaks ELT's key out of his pocket and gives it to Owl*

Now quick, get there and change the locks before he has change to remove anything form the house, that way you get everything. :-)

LOL - hey it can be painful to see when I blab about such things, I admit it ;)

Independence War 2. It actually had another fun quirk - I did a bit of an edit on the config file to add in a few joystick button keybinds. When I went back to the game, I can't skip the opening cutscene. This scene is OLDSCHOOL - about 10 minutes long and it plays every time the game starts... and I can't skip it.

Turns out after I did the edit job on the config, I accidently saved it as a txt file. Slapped .ini back on it and that did the trick ;)

Seems like it's going to be a VERY fun game though.
