AgentBirdnest: Well, we did end up getting Bethesda (though, we still wait on their newer games >:-/) ... and Lucasarts... I guess some of those were AAA games at one point.
That would make a cool paper cra.... nevermind :-x
Bethesda who took games off us then took ages to bring them back but then charged more and gave us less (hardly any extras compared to the original version). While many of the games we got were good old games, they were still scraps, nothing new at all, where was the Doom 3 or anything like that? Maybe that is it, we get old and former AAA titles with regional pricing. But are the Lucasarts games not flat priced?
But it will be more fun to fire him from a catapult, I will even let you do it. :-)
HypersomniacLive: Good day, hope everyone's doing well, and is getting ready for a enjoyable weekend.
They're still flocking, they're just cloaked and you can't see them.
Activision hasn't released a game here for 4yrs, and sadly there's no indication this will change any time soon, if ever.
That last bit is a very interesting thought. I suppose it could have been true in the past, and for some games it's actually true (the version on Steam are identical to the GOG ones, logos and all included), but there's a good chunk of older/classic games already on Steam with no sign of them coming here, my guess is that GOG was sort of a test bed regarding sales, and now that it's established that they sale, they just go with the store with the bigger (and less selective) client base.
Hello, Mr Lidless! (the eye form The Lord of the Rings).
Nice to see you here among the crazy people of Fred. :-)
I think test bed is a good point. Look at Cinemaware, they bring a few here, test the water, then give Steam a compilation of over a dozen games for the price of one or two on here. Then say it was not their fault (which I don't believe), they promise to give us something to make it up to us, but that was the last we heard. Nothing to make it up to loyal GOG customers, not even a new game, not even those on the Steam compilation that are not here. Didn't SquareEnix previously admit to using GOG only when they can't get a game to work so they can then sell it on Steam? Perhaps GOG should focus more on those developers and publishers who value GOG customers, not pander to "AAA" publishers for table scraps.
