Empress_Owl: Bruce Springsteen !! :))
Glad that your ride went well !!!
Yep. One of the best musicians imho - and a great in particular :D
Thank you - was really great cycling along the Alster river in the sun :)

ddickinson: That is true. It seems the AAA and indies are increasing their prices while offering less and less. While I don't always go for price/length ratio, I do agree that some games are so short that they are not worth the price, especially given the often lack of replayability.
Well that's reason we have DLC and microtransactions....
There is actually a recent case for me: Firewatch. A game with not much replayability that can be finished in 4 hours or even less.

I have heard some good things about Firewatch. And of course there are exceptions to shorter games with limited replayability, but usually only those that build up a connection with you on a more personal level. There are a few shorter games that are very thought provoking, but to be honest even then they may be overpriced. But price is quite subjective and up to the gamer.

Me too. The story and especially the dialogues in that game are supposed to be really good - but gameplay wise it's not too impressive. More a hiking simulator than an adventure game - not that i mind walking simulators. But i'll definitely wait in that case - preferably for a GOG release :)
That's true - there is no general rule of thumb for the right price....

ddickinson: Well all three of those sounds okay, although cleaning less so. Gaming is an option, but then who can resist a nice nap if you are tired. What game would you play if you decided to pick the middle option?
Wound up hearing from my folks, who want to stop by for a visit tomorrow, so it looks like cleaning will be winning out for most of the day, as this place is a bit of a wreck. :)
I've been enjoying Batman Arkham City an awful lot of late. Been trying to focus on gamepad games while my shoulder is being cranky, but it certainly hasn't been difficult to find fun games that fit the bill. But I'm also feeling really drawn to Stardew Valley... chances are I'll play a bit of one or the other before the day is over.

I have not looked into the game too much, just in case I decide to try it at some point in the future. But it does look nice, although I can imagine it to be a little dull if the story does not appeal to me as the gameplay seems a little limited.

Sadly nothing can beat back the dreaded cleaning monster. It finds tricky ways to make you do the cleaning. :-)

I have not played any of the Batman games, but I do enjoy a nice gamepad game as well as keyboard and mouse. I prefer keyboard and mouse over all, but some games just play better with a controller, especially console ports as they were often made with keyboard and mouse as an after thought.

I saw a video about the first 10-15 minutes and it looks really nice, the dialogue was pretty good in the sequence but the gameplay was limited...
Well I will be saying goodbye, it has been lovely chatting with you all again. Take care, and I hope you all have a lovely day!

*hugs and waves*

I have seen the opening part as well, but left it at that as it looked like an interesting game. I guess once the price has dropped and if I can get it DRM-Free I might give it a try, and if my computer can run the game, I have not looked at the specs yet.

Have a good day, ELT. It has been nice chatting as always.

Yes those are my requirements for the game as well :)
I wish you a lovely day and likewise. It's been great hearing from you - take care!

Just got done playing in the pool (PT) and grocery shopping. I'm pooped. ;-)
Gonna have some coffee and then make lunch, then maybe a nap.
So yes, I'm about where I want to be, unless you want to make lunch for me.

Just as I decided to chat a bit, the pup woke up and is now being an attention thief. But hello to you and Endre and the rest of the thread!

Oh, Agent, if you are comfortable with me having your postal address, I have some peanut butter to send you! This Steem stuff did in fact come in a 2-pack, and as you introduced me to the stuff, I figure it's only right that I share the spoils! So long as (a) you don't mind sending me your postal address and (b) you don't mind the fact that I may remember to send it right away, or may forget for a couple days/weeks until I am magically reminded I need to head to the post office, I'd love to send you some of this goodness! :)

I'll check back around in a bit after taking Sarge outside for a little play time. Take care, all!

Sounds like a nice plan :-) ... Not sure how to get lunch all the way to Iow... wait... *tries to put pizza in the DVD drive* ,'',):-\
