I have lots of interesting games to get into, but there has been some stuff in the realm of tv series...
I've watched the 1st season of Ash vs. Evil Dead and now in the middle of this fantasy series Shannara Chronicles, which I find really awesome.

I have to leave for class soon, but just before I go I wanted to share with you all a curious anecdote (notice I say curious, not amusing).

So I went to my first lesson of the other volunteer course I'm helping out with. This one about teaching grannies and grandpas how to use their tablets. So I get there and what do I find out the guy in charge is teaching them?

Why; how to get free movies from shady sites with intrusive banners and constant popups redirecting to betting sites, porn sites full of extremely graphic advertisements and malware sites!

There was a thud! It was my jaw hitting the floor.

Then, and only after he'd asked me about mine, I asked what his computer background was; "Well I know PHP, and I once made a website in Joomla." At least I think he said Joomla, considering that the guy pronounces 'class' as 'trass'. I am NOT making this up.

It gets worse when I confronted him about the pirate site and the all too real risk of malware, he told me "They asked me how to get movies off the internet, I told them there are pay sites and pirate sites. But they told me they didn't want to pay; so..." He further defended himself by saying that if they ever got infected, he'd just fix it up, and that no site is secure because supposedly secure big corporations also suffer security leaks from hacker attacks.

At that point I was dangerously close to an aneurysm. I still don't know how I kept myself from punching him in the mouth.

I never quite made it to BOFH. Still I know enough about BOFHs and the fauna they deal with to be able to recognize his kind. The pretentious know-it-all. The sort of people that thinks that because they know what the word directory means it makes them computer techs.

TL;DR The guy in charge of the volunteer course about tablets was an idiot.

Hello! Yeah, looks like Amazon just isn't worth it for records. It's a shame, as they're often the cheapest, especially when they offer free shipping. Not worth all the hassle though. :)
So far the day has just been music and a tiny round of Puzzle Quest 2 on my phone while sitting out back with the pup, but I suspect I'll check out the new expansion for Pillars of Eternity later today (I've played the rest, so I'll be heading straight into the new content) and probably a little Ronin and Cat Goes Fishing.

I haven't been watching much in the way of tv lately, but I also didn't know there was a show based on Evil Dead... does it star Bruce Campbell and all? I'll have to start doing some googling in a bit. :) I haven't heard of Shannara Chronicles, but I'll look into that as well. We've been trying to find some tv worth getting into when we're feeling like lazy nights, as all the streaming services removed Doctor Who, which was one of the few shows we watched regularly.

Yeah... Ash vs... stars Bruce Campbell and involves the original director/writer/producer Sam Raimi :) ...It's sort of the continuation of the story of Evil Dead 1 and 2 and possibly Army of Darkness: Ash has lived in relative quiet for 2-3 decades working in a store and partying in his trailer... And then something happens.

Alright, sounds like you got some good games there. Haven't heard of Cat Goes Fishing, maybe I'll check it out :)
Sure, Amazon can be quite cheap... Maybe you could ask their customer service what's the deal with the bad delivery..?

I'll have to check that show out, sounds like good fun! Cat Goes Fishing was recently gifted to me by a sneaky / awesome forum member. I've only put in a couple hours so far, but it's the sort of casual game I can see myself going back to for short play sessions for quite some time. It's great stress relief... until an obnoxious Grumper starts eating all your bait. ;)

That's nice! I watched Cat Goes Fishing's Trailer, and it was sooo relaxing :) Instantly wishlisted, might buy it on the weekend :)

I don't do too many TV series (big time baseball person - can't wait for another month or so!) - I really only watch Game of Thrones and Agents of SHIELD... but Shannara actually seemed like it was going to be pretty good. It's a bit cliched as hell and has the obligatory "I'm on MTV T&A" mixed in but it really was enough to make me want to watch more.

BUT - they ran it against The Expanse. WHY DO NETWORKS DO THIS??? Clearly these two shows are going to hit the same demographic - why pirate each others audience when there really isn't anything else on TV to compete with? I ended up watching The Expanse more often than not, as it was a VERY enjoyable show. Excited for more. Plus I LOVE that the vessels move according to Newtonian physics!


I was so excited for this, then totally bummed when I realized it was on a premium station I'll never subscribe to - I do HBO and even that a little reluctantly (I can't believe how little use I make of it). What do you watch this on? Is there some alternative that I might find a little easier to swallow?

I am watching it through my VuduToGo player which is available if you buy anything from vudu.com.
I admit - it's not the best option to see TV series... A whole season can cost about 17-20 euros.
But I haven't found some series anywhere else, at least around this part of the planet, like with Ash vs. Evil Dead.

Mmm.. now that I think about it... I wouldn't be suprised if netflix or something like that releases it. Might take a month or two, like with Z Nation - it came out on vudu first, then netflix U.S. released a few months later.

Codename Panzers? :-O I was just talking about that a week ago. I liked it. The price is a bit high though, in my opinion. I got it on the bargain shelf a decade ago for $10. I would have expected it to be that or cheaper today.
