It's funny when more tech gets added. Started the day with just my stuff, now I'm showing my roommate how to get Nintendo games while setting up their tablets.

moonshineshadow: Oh wow, that sounds scary if you imagine people looking like their avatars o.O
*don't even want to imagine that hug*

AgentBirdnest: But I really do look like my avatar! :-p
*big scary hug* ;-)
*laughing return hug*

EndreWhiteMane: How exactly does one 'hold a fort'? Forts are usually quite large.
I would do better trying to hold down a fort. I'm rather overweight and make good ballast.
avatar
ddickinson: You hold it from the enemy. Why would you hold it down, unless it was inflatable and filled with helium? :-)
Ah, I see. I was thinking of like hugging one of the timbers.
I believe this thread is starting to get to me.

Or my comment earlier about a threesome hug with the ladies has gone to your head. :-)

Never my dear would I confuse 'ladies' with 'timbers'.

Edit: Except perhaps for the similarities in level of stubbornness.

What about a lady carved out of timber? :-)

And as the saying goes: "We are not stubborn, our way is just better". :-p

zeogold: I didn't know there was such a thing as an "American accent"...
avatar
ddickinson: Well now you do. :-)
...there...isn't one...

*laughing hug* Ah great. I need to remember that saying :D

There's more than one U.S. accent. Listen to someone who's technically speaking American English while halfway eviscerating it and you'll notice the difference.

ddickinson: It being Sunday does rather complicate how you would get an electric heater. But seeing about the management paying for it or at least the running cost sounds like a good idea if the problem persists. But hopefully the problem will be fixed soon so you won't have to worry, and I hope you all manage to keep warm.
Heating works again! Not sure for how long, but we'll sure heat the place up so we have some buffer when goes off again.

zeogold: Interesting, since most people tend to guess I'm 30 or older.
I would have guessed mid-20's. 18 surprises me a bit, I have to admit. :-)

Yeah, that's what I thought. There's no "American accent", it's multiple accents depending on the region you come from. Put a Bostoner and a Texan in the same room and see if they can understand one another.

I will bid you all a good day. My partner should be back from her rehearsals soon and I have a lovely evening planned, so I had better make a start on dinner and get a few things ready. I hope you all have a lovely day, and if I don't see you for a while take care of yourselves and try to all behave. :-)

*hugs and silly waves*

I know, the term "American accent" is just a blanket saying for you funny speaking people access the sea in the USA. :-)
Like when people say English of British accent when there are many regional variations. Keep in mind that British would include Scotland and Wales and maybe Northern Ireland, so that makes for even more variation of accents.

That is great news. Let's hope it stays on this time. *big warming hug*
