The problem is that German enterprises, at least to me, are stale, bleak and boring. At least in IT. You just work yourself to death by routine.
Thus I want to travel a bit and I'm fairly good in my field so...

And now, it's time to run errands. Guess today's slightly more active than usual. Back in a bit.

Yes... the HV Penetrator, if I remember correctly. It is kinda a descendant of the crossbow in NOLF, which would stick enemies to the walls. The HV Penetrator was fully automatic though >:-) ... I was also a big fan of the shotgun in FEAR. It just felt really good to shoot that one. Loud, powerful, and if you got close enough to your enemies, you would explode them, which was very morbidly satisfying :-)

I didn't really mind the expansions to the first game. It was a bit silly that they made others involved in it all as there was no mention to them in the first game, but gameplay wise they were good. TO be honest it has been so ling since I played it (I think it was one of the last PC games I played before I took a break from buying PC games due to the new things that came out called DRM. I only started buying new games once I found GOG). I still have the collectors set on DVD of the first game and the expansions.

I remember thinking that one expansion was okay, and that the other was really good. But I can't remember any details, stories, characters, or levels... I should give them another run sometime.
It's a good game to have on anyone's shelf. It's one of the better "old" FPS games, in my opinion. And even better to have a DRM-free version. Finally just bought myself a DRM-free copy during the recent promo :-)

How's the beginning of the weekend treating you?

I am the same way. I kind of remember the storyline to the first game, but not the expansions. I think they were good for the gameplay but maybe not the story, while the first game was good for both. I picked it up on here as well, just as a backup. It is a really good game from the good old days when FPS games where good.

When do you think FPS games were good?
I thought the best years were about 1998-2005. That's where most of my favourites are from. Roughly from the point that they transitioned to fully 3D, until the X-box 360 came out, and everyone started copying Call of Duty.

I'm sure we'll make it through :D There are many fields where Geography can be applied.

I would probably agree withy our dates. There are of course still some good FPS games now and then, but most are just lacklustre multiplayer focused games, and any single player aspect is often more cinematic than game. Or they are just COD clones. Shame they can't clone the WW2 era games when COD was good. :-)

I guess so too. But my problem is that i don't know what i want to do afterwards because there are probably too many fields where geography can be applied :D
