moonshineshadow: I can give you even more info. Isometric RPGs. Nope. Huge parties where I need to manage all characters. Even worse.
Good luck ;-)

*note to self: how the heck did I manage to aquire so many games with all these limitations*
-laughing hard- You came out of a purchasing haze, then discovered that you'd bought a bunch of things you don't like?

Nah. It is more like there are way too many adventures, puzzle games and platformers out there :D
The number of games that I did not like playing is actually very small.
Goodnight, everyone! Take care and have a lovely evening/night. And if the sale should start tomorrow, then I hope it has lots of good games for you all.

*goodnight hugs and silly waves*

ddickinson: Still, it is nice that you got a job, and hopefully one that will not be as taxing as the previous one.

So how are you this evening?

*big return hug*
It definitely won't - i'm sure about that :)

I'm fine - but i actually dozed off for a moment ;)

Ah. So you yourself are saying that you are burdened by an overabundance of titles you prefer. I'm glad to see you feel that way. =)

I'm good :-)

The excitement's beginning to tingle a bit, along with the anticipation of headaches and sleep deprivation. Be funny if the sale doesn't start for another week... (or not).

You can't have many more gaps to fill now, a nice way to approach a sale. How's your day going?

You shouldn't end up losing sleep over this one. The payday's too big for GOG to get experimental or niche with their format.
Zazz forecast? Low-level drizzle throughout, with maybe a sudden downpour or two if publishers decide to capitalize by releasing new items during the sale.

Just looked. 50 left, 31 potentials for the sale. The other 19 are either too new or showed for the last two sales.

Can't complain here, aside from the idle impatience. Quiet evening, watching some videos so I'm not staring at the clock. (As much.)

For you its got the feel of a lengthy endeavour coming to a close. 50 is a long way (completed) down the home stretch, and after that its all confetti and smiles.

I've no idea what my target is. I passed 500 collected (am I insane or what?) a couple of weeks ago and now I'm happy to just tick over and see what tickles my fancy. You never know, I might even play one or two of them. Damn compulsive digital shit, no idea why I keep coming back for more.

11 hours 58 minutes and counting....

I just need to shift gears, stop obsessing over it and start spending a hell of a lot less money on it.
Already have my budget for the new year worked out, and it sure as hell doesn't include coin to cover what I've been doing.

You've got the relaxed approach. Quite a bit healthier.

You come back for more because you still enjoy the process. When you stop enjoying it, get annoyed, start asking yourself all the time why you keep buying things when you already have hundreds, then you'll shift over to primarily playing rather than buying.

11 hours, 48 minutes. But who's counting.

The investment of time and money has been pretty big, and to stay focused for as long as you have is some achievement. It'll make me smile as well as you when you clear the last hurdle and wait for the cameras to flash and a microphone to be shoved in your ear.

I've got a sort of advantage in terms of expenditure and desire to own in that I didn't grow up with this stuff. I remember Pong, for god's sake, and that thing made me wonder what all the fuss was about. But I've been thinking about what brings me back, and its the combination of artistry, control and freedom. PC games are about the biggest exercise in escapism there is. Combine that with the way the world is trying with renewed waves of determination to strangle itself and I can see where the attraction is. I like my cave. Its out of harm's way and I've got my games for company.

11 hours 34... I'm not counting, either.

Being crazy doesn't exactly qualify as an achievement.

There isn't a last hurdle, aside from what you decide for yourself. I could stop right now, erase my list and call it a day. (Yeah fucking right, there's a sale on in less than 12 hours.) There's too much and it never ends. Have to make your own boundary in cases like that.

True. Games are engaging in a way that other information can't hope to be.

Completely understandable. You're not the only one trying to ride out the disgusting madness of it all. Not by a long shot.
