NoNewTaleToTell: Thousands of attempts for one successful run? Was it at least fun most attempts?
Right. Start the level, usually die within 2 to 15 seconds, then restart.

That game isn't about fun. It's about zoning out to the point of executing commands without thinking about them, since the lag time involved in that thought is enough to get you killed every time.

What's really annoying is that all the mental function involved in playing is almost unconscious. I've been playing for, aside from needing to do stuff away from the computer from time to time, about 16 and a half hours now. I have music blasting in my ears at full volume. But I can still hear the voice in my head, that inner monologue, chattering away non-stop.
There's mental engagement, but it's nothing like absorbing a story, solving problems or learning complex gameplay mechanics.

Sounds like a more taxing version of Tetris at Tetris' highest difficulty, or a end stage boss in a difficulty driven shmup. I'm guessing you feel more tired than anything after passing a stage?

Oh, and here is a sequel to a post I made last week. No, I don't know how I keep ending up in this situation, but if there is a pattern it probably involves getting a car I like.

A combination of tired and annoyed. I've played enough of the game to see its guts a bit. By the looks of it, there are sections randomly placed together for each attempt. That's all fine and wonderful, except when the sections go together in such a way that your chance of shifting from one obstacle to the next is zero. Then it's trial and error in a sense, hoping that enough pieces go together in a way that the level can actually be completed, rather than just killing me flat out.

-laughs- It's like last time, only the car's position is reversed. You seem to have a talent for getting vehicles in that position.
Good Morning!
Nice pics N2T3 ;)
I tried to come hello this thread last night again but the main page wasn't working and didn't try this thread...
Seems it would have worked if I understand what people talked before...
well nevermind, probably would have rambled a bit about something random :P

I can recommend heartily Spider Baby for anyone interested in horror movies :)
Personally I'm kind of seen enough of gory action horror to last me a while, and these atmospheric suspense-inducing horror movies are much more easier to enjoy. Basically it mostly means stuff made before late 70's, better yet, in the 1950's or 40's :)

Ah, I so love the chief in W2.
Everything these days seems to be, "Yes, this should be so easy for you, rangers."
Arriving at the scene, it doesn't take many turns to realize I'm getting blown to bits no matter what I do.
But then again, I have created a team of thieves and charismatic talkers, not commandos...

Yeah that game would honestly leave me much more annoyed than entertained, thanks for the heads up on that! Anything else on your plate currently?

In other pointless news I'm considering make my own mod for MDickie's Wrestling MPire Remix. Something like replacing the parody feds with their real life counterparts like WCW, (classic) ECW, early TNA, Attitude era WWE etc and doing the same with the wrestlers, as well as making them a little less cartoon-ish graphically. It's sorta been done before by another modding group but their mod ran pretty terribly for me and it felt a little too "copycat-y" of WWF No Mercy.

Before I start on that though, I'm doing some basic work redoing an old mod I made for Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines, mainly just replacing the player character models and changing stuff like clothing textures a bit. Gotta ease yourself back in after all haha.

Edit: Good morning superstande!

Good morning. =)

Haven't heard of that one before. Been watching movies on that site you mentioned a while back?

Never trust the opinion of the guy who hands out the missions. What does he know, he's not the one going out and fighting off the enemies.

yep, I'm hooked on vudu :) But in Finland there are not many options outside a few streaming sites like netflix. Amazon prime is unavailable unless I can make a UK or US credit card ;) And iTunes, from my experience was full of expensive crap, mostly :) So being able to buy good old movies for a nice price is just awesome, although, of course, after a while, it can become a bit silly hobby... a bit like my gog games collection ;)

by the way, what the hell is this "only on gog sale" supposed to mean? ... I just checked the rental shop and they have all four witcher games for pretty much the same prices :D

...
I'll just keep mumbling until someone else takes over.. ^__^

having a cool day alone for a change, the overlady has left for shopping...
just realized that signing up for bandcamp lets you redownload all your past downloads... somehow they saved my details without having an account... I thought it was just one time thing to do a buy&download&forget when you buy without account... now I see my library... almost in tears of happiness... having lost these records on an old computer :)

Good morning, ever-so-quiet, ever-so-sleepy folks of the thread! I hope you're all enjoying your weekends.

I'm having a minor dilemma... I got a promo code for one of two new AAA games from the graphics card in my new pc, but they aren't games I'm interested in... I considered posting in the trading thread, but I'm not even sure it's reasonable / fair to trade this code. I mean, it's for one of two $60 games, but was just a free code that came in a box as a result of something I was getting anyway... have any of you ever traded such or similar codes, and if so, what did you consider a fair trade? I certainly wouldn't want something of equal price, just something I'd rather play, but I kind of feel like trading it at would be a little crappy / selfish.

We spent Thanksgiving at a family friend's property on a beautiful lake with a very small group of folks, and Sarge had his first swim! It was quite a fun day. He's still a bit worn out from all the running around he did (they had a huge fenced in property, so he just got to roam free.)
Today we're planning on playing a bit of Divinity: Original Sin in couch co-op mode and to take the pup to a park somewhere nearby. That's about as busy as today is going to get, I hope. Feeling pretty lazy. :)
He's dead, Jim......poor thread....

And hello everyone :)

Crap, I really should have had *one more sip of coffee* before hitting "send." That's all it would have taken to avoid ruining all your fun! Doh!

No problem....it's just hilarious that you posted exactly at the moment i posted my mourning over the dead thread :P
Morning all, hope you're all at least OK today.
Trying to decide if I feel well enough to go to work today, I really should but I don't just want to be grumpy all day.
*hugs, waves, handshakes and burritos all around*

I think the better question is, do you feel good enough to stay home for the hell of it? ;) I hope you feel better, whether you wind up working or not!
*whew* finally there's a conversation happening :)
