This does explain the thought of GOG doing their second so soon, since the first rental sale starts in less than three days.

I think I'm firmly in the last 3rd or so of Legendary and I'm a bit happy about it. It's not exactly a BAD game, but it's not "great" either, it's just good enough to be worth finishing, if that makes sense? I got it for 49 cents during a Steam sale a year or two ago and it was worth that, easily but I wouldn't recommend it at full price.

At its core it's a B level FPS that happens to have a decent cinematic (in a good way) feel and a mix of legendary monsters from several different mythologies to fill with holes and of course the ever present "bad guy who wants to end the world for some not really explained reason" humanoid enemies.

One thing I've found to be slightly disappointing about it is that it could've been much better if they had focused a bit more on the details within the "horror" atmosphere and vibe that it occasionally flaunts. For example some levels that were clearly meant to have a horror/creepy feel to them would've been far better if they had just darkened the shadows and lighting in general quite a bit as the pacing, encounters etc were already solid enough, but the lighting was so bright that you never had a chance to get into "that mood". I mean, how scary would Doom 3 (for example) be if the lightening was bright as day, even if the rest of the level design stayed the same?

However the only "big" issues the game has is a texture bug that causes textures to not load sometimes (making everything look as if it were made of clay) and a checkpoint only save system.

Not really an edit but pretend it is: I used to post this kinda stuff in the "What Are You Playing Now" thread, but there is often zero back and forth discussion to be found there. Y'all don't mind me talking about my current playthroughs in here do you? I just like having some actual discussion instead of just naming my current game's for the sake of exercising my typing skills or something?...haha...

Interesting. Looks like a novel concept that was only halfway decently executed. At least you didn't spend much on it.

Fiddling around with Path of Exile at the moment since I'm not ready to focus on a single story-driven game yet.

Doesn't bother me at all. Also don't blame you for wanting something more stimulating than typing a list again and again. That would get old very quickly.
