ddickinson: I actually really liked Chaser. Again, it is nothing ground breaking, but the it was a lot of fun, and is quite a long game. Although that one was very hard, even on easy. Sadly Iron Storm started off as a nice alternative WW1 type setting, but it soon moves on to other locations, which kind of ruined it a little for me as I loved the WW1 trench type settings. But the game is still fun, to me at least. I tend to play a lot of FPS with my brothers and we had some fun playing both that and Chaser. I think they are worth the price, even when not on sale. But don't hold me to that in case you don't like the games. Just be warned that Iron Storm on anything but easy was quite hard, and Chaser is hard even on easy :-)
That's okay. A decent is usually quite enjoyable. Yes the WW1 is an interesting but really underused setting in video games. Well i don't mind a challenge :)

ddickinson: I remember a game about you being the last of your kind and you manipulating the different races to get them to live in peace, I think that was a space game, but I am not sure what game it is. You controlled what technology to share and things like that.

How about this space game, it looks like it could be fun: http://webmonkees.com/arcade/images/proj1_logo.jpg
Huh... sounds cool. I don't know about it. I only buy space games, I don't play them :-)

:-O ... Instabuy! Instabuy!! I want it I want it!!

This post is hereby dedicated to my favourite Owl of all time : Owl. She is the best. A true friend. Always there to help when someone is down. A true shining example of kindness and caring. Owlways comforting, Owlways making me smile, Owlways being the best friend she can be.
A massive thanks for everything, Owl. My lovely empress.
If everyone could please give her all the hugs you can, it would be appreciated :-)

What is he saying in the video?
(Just a summary, no need to translate it all.)

And? She is your empress, should you not give her every major post? :-)

Good afternoon people!

I managed to get sword of the stars 1 running from the disc without wine issues. The halftime exams went totally well, and I'm preparing tonight's Fading Suns session at the moment.

So, I'm coming along just fine....

How are you lot doing?

ddickinson: What is he saying in the video?
Well the start is the German text of Ode to joy mostly taken from a poem by Friedrich Schiller:

Freude, schöner Götterfunken
Tochter aus Elysium,
Wir betreten feuertrunken,
Himmlische, dein Heiligtum!
Deine Zauber binden wieder
Was die Mode streng geteilt;
Alle Menschen werden Brüder,
Wo dein sanfter Flügel weilt.

which translates to (according to Wikipedia, translation is apparently from Night of the Proms):

Joy, beautiful spark of divinity,
Daughter from Elysium,
We enter, burning with fervour,
heavenly being, your sanctuary!
Your magic brings together
what fashion has sternly divided.
All men shall become brothers,
wherever your gentle wings hover.

the rest of the video is nonsense. He just strings together German words ;)

Edit: That page explains the nonsensical part with links to explain the references :)

And thank you for this, I now have proof German words are just nonsense and made up. :-)

You could always dedicate it to her, stick up a flag and say you conquer that post for France and her Owl Empress!

Is France a he or a she? I know many places call their homeland a he as they think it sounds more manly. I know the US refers to theirs as a man, we refer to ours as a woman, I think Germany was also a male during the war but I am not sure about in general, and Russia is a female. [/end random silly thought]

You're welcome.
Seems so, eh? :)

But while i'm not a huge fan of Schiller the poem is a real masterpiece :)
