Stilton: I've got DosBox Turbo and Manager installed on my tablet - apparently all you need to get GOG games working - and a pretty broad selection of DosBoxy games ready to install to PC and transfer across. I've read and followed tutorials until they're coming out of my ears, all without success, so I'm in that 'at a complete loss' state that I hear precedes yelling and kicking the furniture. Its been an 'interesting' day....
j0ekerr: Hurm, nope. Can't really help there I know next to nothing about Android.
Do you at least know what sort of error code it's giving you? Why the games won't load or how do they crash?
Also, while it looks cool and all, trying to control something designed for mouse and keyboard on an android device is a pain, and the virtual controls are always absolute shite.
The errors so far are that after all of the rigmarole of getting the thing set up as its supposed to be the tablet screen just stares back at me like an idiot. No reason why its not happening other than the implication that I'm dimwitted, which is probably the case.
And I'm going for fairly static point-and-click type games rather than anything too dexterously challenging.
Stilton: I'm good, if a little frustrated. Have you had any dealings with Android thingamys and getting GOG games to work on them? I feel like Mr Spock because it all seems so very illogical.
ElTerprise: Glad to hear that (that you're doing good of course) - nope can't help you there - the only device which has Android is my smartphone and i rarely play on it - but only some Playstore games....
Edit: Maybe creating a thread in the main forum might help. I guess that some forum members might help you with it... Thanks for the suggestion. I've searched through a few forum threads on the subject and they've all been inconclusive, so I doubt opening a new one will be much different. I'll have to keep looking. :-)
Stilton: Hi purple.
Hope your days have been good so far. :-)
Are there any geniuses here? I'm attempting to get a GOG game working on Android and its like trying to tap dance without a floor. I'm also about as Android-literate as a pineapple, so I have an immediate and potentially insurmountable problem to add to the.....problem.
Anyone got GOG going Androidy? If you have I could do with a few pointers... :-)
EndreWhiteMane: I've been meaning to try that for some time. I'll try to get to it sooner rather than later and see what luck I have.
From what I've read it works........sometimes.
It does seem very hit and miss. I've even tried it with the same games and procedures those who have got it working have demonstrated with, but still with nothing to show for it. It might be that they were using an older version of DosBox Turbo and so there's a difference somewhere I haven't seen
Someone such as yourself with a fair bit of computer/Linux savvy will likely do better than I have. At least, I hope you do :-)
