I am mean? You tried to slip poison in my food! :-)

How could I talk about bird boobs, you said they don't have any, despite evidence to prove otherwise. :-)

It's Soccorro's birthday?
Happy birthday,mah man!
avatar
moonshineshadow: Pfff... as if he has a choice in getting gifts :P
And I should have know it was today, I mean the date is on his wiki page. But I lost track of things because of being away and not having my birthday list in sight :D
Well I still got him something, but as he asked me not to mention it to others I was honour bound to keep quiet about it. :-(

Frogs are poison, some cultures use them to coat arrows with deadly poison. :-)

But Owl's do have breasts, all birds do (I think). So they do have boobs. :-)

ElTerprise: Yep. Guess they think it might boost the sales outside of the core audience - or didn't think at all...
That is exactly the reason. Most games will screw over the old fans if it could attract even more players.

And good morning, ELT! How are you today?
THanks everyone! :D

I don't it's restricted games franchises. Same for movie franchises i'd say...
They just are on a quest for moar money....

I'm okay...having bad headache this morning but otherwise i'm good. How are you?

ddickinson: I remember hearing that Starcraft 2 changed the voice actress for Kerrigan, which annoyed a lot of fans. The original lady could come back, but they never asked her, they chose some Hollywood actress to do it instead. And recently Metal Gear Solid got rid of the guy who voiced the game for years in exchange for some Hollywood actor.
I've always hated when games get Hollywood actors to do voices... 86% of the time, nobody would ever notice if they didn't know beforehand. And sometimes, the voice only distracts me, because I keep picturing the actor while I'm playing (Alec Baldwin in World in Conflict.) But I guess it gets more people interested in the game, if famous people are in it...

ElTerprise: You mean Lara Croft, don't you? :D
I knew as I was typing it that "Laura" wasn't right :-p Yet I didn't change it...

Yes. That happened to me as well when playing Vice City and Ray Liotta :)

I think it really depends on the game. I mean it was quite cool that the German voiceover for Indiana Jones and the Emporers Tomb was done by the dubbing actor of Harrison Ford :D
But for titles that have no connection to any films or something, there is no reason to get Hollywood actors to do the voicing, that is just silly.

I am not really a big movie watcher, so I wouldn't know really. Would it not be more obvious in a movie with the person being different? In a game it is just a voice, but in a movie it is the whole person.

Sorry to hear about your headache, let's hope it goes away as the day goes on. I am doing good, thank you.

I have never understood the whole craze with celebrities. Like when a new movie is out and all they push is the leading actor more, not the story of the movie. Many of the actors seem to be more important to people than the movie itself, they go just to see the person. Which I think is a little sad. But as you say, it seems to get in more people and thus more money, and that is all the big companies care about.

Yes. Vice City had great voice-acting.

Ah Goodfellas, one of the best Mafia movies of all time. That scene was great :D
