ddickinson: Well I have been blessed with some generous gifts, so I have gotten some games from the kind people of the thread. This year has not been the best for me with time and gaming. Christmas is when my partners were both hospitalised (for different reasons) and I nearly lost them, then there was my brother losing his baby daughter, my extremely long work hours where I was working a month two of 18+ hour days, and for the last few months I have been very ill, all of that leaves me little time for games, especially when my game time is often when I am not with my partner or she is asleep (as I value my time with her more than gaming). Unless we are playing a game together, which is always fun, but not something I can do with the majority of the games I have on here (although we have played quite a few together, which accounts for most of the games I have played this year).
I see what you mean about not having time. That is a whole lot of grief and strain to deal with one after another.

At least you're still able to have some fun with it all when you're with your partner.

Interesting. Do you know where the other 3/4 originated form? No need to answer if you don't want to, I am just always curious about the diversity of people from regions that were heavily colonised.

So you have super long arms now to reach across the atlantic? :-)

We recently finished Dust, which I liked, and also Never Alone. My partner prefers a controller over a keyboard so we tend to play games that have controller support and that we can just have fun with playing together, even if only one of us is actually playing at a time. We used to get together with two of my sister-in-laws and do a wine and indie crap night. We just had a few glasses of wine, had a lovely evening together talking, and played some of the crap indie games on the XBox service. We only played the demos, but it is a lot of silly fun making up the voices and joking about the horrible sexism, racist, misogyny, and all that other stuff in games. I was a little tempted to actually get HuniePop for us all to play as I am sure that game will provide a lot of fun for all the wrong reasons, but I am not sure I can bring myself to do that. :-)

So, if you don't mind me asking, how many games are you up this sale?

That is an interesting mix, although nothing too unexpected given those countries colonisation of South America. Thank you for sharing.

*big hug*

Sounds like fun, so long as the wine kept flowing. I've seen a lot of XBLIG titles, they tend to be pretty awful.

Just looked, up 42 at the moment.

It is more about us just spending some nice time together than the wine and the games. Not that I get to have any wine at the moment :-(. They are awful games, which is part of the fun aspect. It is like Steam, quite shocking what some companies will let people sell on their platforms.

I don't think I have ever bought that many at once in one sale. I tried adding more games to my wishlist as people said to add every game I had a slight interest in, but I just can't do that. I don't want people gifting me games I might not like, so I try to keep them off my list. Not that there are many, I think there could be a dozen on the sale that are not on my list that look interesting, but only a little, and often only a part of the game appeals to me while other parts put me off.

89 is the record. Doubting I'll ever be able to break that in one shot.

Your process for adding things to your list is different. Nothing wrong with that. People say they want you to add stuff because they like you, and gifting a game is the most convenient way to express it here in a way that isn't typed words.

I know, I have had quite a lot of mean bulling lately about my wishlist. But I just don't know if I can add games that I only slightly am interested in. I would feel terrible if I ended up hating the game after someone gifted me the game. I already have a few on my list at the moment that I am not sure about as I have not played the prequel games, but they look good enough that I am sure I will like them.

Edit: I just did another wave of gifting, so I have unlocked the last game. But I really do appreciate you offering me the code for it earlier. *thank you hug*

In the end, it's up to you. Keep what you want there, pull the rest.

Had the same conflict for maybe half a second. But I can appreciate the act of someone caring enough to pass me a gift while simultaneously eviscerating said gift on a "this was quite probably made by brain-damaged chimps" level.

Not a problem, you're welcome.

I think I am just weird when it comes to accepting gifts. I am not really used to getting gifts of people who are not my loved ones, and I am so used to working for things that gifts still make me a little uneasy. For example, I thought about just adding every game, even the ones I could hate but have a slight interest in, but I can't do it during the sale in case someone gifts me it, as I would feel like I was taking advantage of the ninja gifters by adding games on sale to my list. I know it is silly, but that is just the way my mind works, and why I was so resistant to even having my wishlist public, but the army of bullies and my promise to Moon forced me to share it.

That isn't weird. Not wanting gifts because the koala bear in the room tells you not to? That might be weird.

Hmm. Well, since you have your list public, you might as well have fun with it. Fill it up with expensive stuff as decoys, fill it with cheap crap that you know is so bad, people will actively be repulsed by the thought of buying it, switch it around every day so people have no clue what you actually want.

What!? You see him as well? I thought it was just me, I thought he was mad that I have Kangaroo burgers in my freezer. :-)

That is way too much effort for me :-). I might one day just give in to people and add every game that I have a light interest in. I mean, I don't mind about all that when I am gifting, but I seem to be different when it comes to people gifting me.

-laughs- Thankfully not. Would be a bit more concerned if I had that to contend with.

I guess you could do that. Hopefully it wouldn't drive you up a wall in the long run.

Additional - Sorry to cut the conversation short, but I'm having serious trouble focusing at the moment. Think I need sleep.

Have a good day. =)

No need to be sorry. Thank you for the lovely talk. Take care, and have a good sleep.
Anyone remember The Matrix?... That was a cool movie...
